Recommended Books

At the age of 45, I am in the best shape of my life.  I am stronger and better toned than ever.  I have managed to rehabilitate numerous joint injuries, acquired  through years of improper training, with a daily routine of Super Joints and just 2 weight lifting exercises, using the high-tension techniques taught in Power To The People. I have five of Pavel Tsatsouline's books and his first Kettlebell video and I cannot rave enough about them.

Power to the People

The book that completely changed the way I look at weight training, Power To The People. If you want a super toned, rock hard body, with incredible strength, without bulk, then this book is for you. This isn't body building. This is strength training. Although there is a very effective body building routine included in the book, if that's what you are into. I have always wanted that Bruce Lee look, though. There are those who knew Bruce Lee that speculated that he may very well have been, pound for pound, the strongest man in the world. He was anything but bulky. Now, I finally know how to achieve it. Read about Hyperirradiation, Feed Forward Tension, effective cycling methods, proper form for the dead-lift, side-press and other exercises, and much, much more. This is not dry, abstract theory. This is very practical, useful information for very fast results.

Super Joints

Learn how to smooth out and lubricate every joint in the body. Rehabilitate injured joints. Prevent deterioration of joints.

I thought I was headed for knee replacement surgery until I started doing a daily routine of Super Joints. I had constant pain in both knees, especially my right knee. The pain got particularly intense descending stairs, would grind, feel and make noise like there was sand in the joint. I had pain in almost every major joint in my body including; knees, shoulders, elbows, hips and ankles. All healed.

So, whether you want to rehabilitate injured joints or maintain joint health for life, see Super Joints.

The Russian Kettlebell Challenge

The Kettlebell, favorite of old-time strong men and for good reason. These very low- tech  implements will build the greatest of strength, endurance and power. Also a favorite of Russian weight lifters and  Special Forces. Now being used by U.S. military, including the Marines.

The ballistic exercises such as the Snatch develop   explosive power. The grinding exercises such as the bent press develop strength.

Whether you make your own kettlebells or buy them
you need to know how to use them.
The Russian Kettlebell Challenge is the definitive source.

I highly recommend the companion video, also. It really helps to see the movements performed.

Bullet-Proof Abs

A strong mid-section is vital for protecting the spine and for transferring power from the legs to the upper body.  Not to mention protecting the internal organs if you are into any kind of contact sports.  Strong abs just look good anyway.  If the mid-section is weak everything will be.  Bullet-Proof Abs will take care of that. You will torture your abs with Janda sit-ups and love it.  So, again whether you make your own or  buy the professionally made Janda sit-up device, the Ab Pavelizer, you will have to know how to use it.  Bullet Proof Abs is loaded with exercises for the mid-section; abs and obliques.  But, you will start with the Janda sit-ups and there is a good reason for this, total isolation of the abs (strengthens them while protecting the spine). You will then progress to exercises such as the Russian Ballet Leg Thrust to integrate the abs with the hip flexors, Full Contact Twists for the obliques and many more ab exercises.

See the exercise that was used by Bruce Lee to develop his legendary abs; The Flag. (Called The Dragon Flag by Pavel Tsatsouline, in honor of Bruce Lee).

Relax Into Stretch

As Pavel says, you will attain the flexibility of a mutant or what ever level of flexibility you want. Flexibility, like strength, is a vital quality for any athletic endeavor.  Stretching also prevents tightening of muscles from weight lifting. Like his other books, Relax Into Stretch contains unique Russian methods.

"While stretching tissues may take years, changes in the nervous system are immediate! Your muscles will start noticeably elongating from your first Relax into Stretch practice and within months you will have achieved a level of flexibility uncommon to our species."
Pavel Tsatsouline
