Go to your local home and garden store and purchase a package of polymer granules, one tradename is "Soil Moist". 1 pound of polymer granules holds 50 gallons of water. Measure the crate you will use and cut 2 pieces, one for the top and one for the bottom. Sew up three sides and leave one end open. Sew 1 1/2 inch channels into the fabric. Put 1 teaspoon of granules for each 12 inches of channel. Close the open end.
To use: Soak in cold water for 30 minutes, full absorption
rate is at 60 to 90 minutes.
The pad will take awhile to dry, you will need to hang it
up, do not lay it down for it can mildew.
Hint: A standard pillow case is just a little smaller than
a #400 crate. Sew 8 vertical channels and then divide each
channel into 4 smaller channels with less than 1 teaspoon
of granules in each space. |

10 pounds hamburger meat
1 large box of Total cereal
1 large box oatmeal
1 jar of wheat germ
1 1/4 cup canola oil
1 1/4 cup of unflavored molasses
10 raw eggs
10 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
pinch of salt
Mix
all ingredients together, much like you would a meatloaf.
Divide into 10 quart freezer bags and freeze. Thaw as needed.
The
above recipe makes a huge amount, you may prefer to mix in
a clean sink.
