Bible Study Facilitated by Reverend Michael Yoshii Wednesdays at 1:30 pm Community Development As a Christian community, the spiritual teachings of Jesus are at the core of our beliefs and philosophy. These include the affirmation that we are not alone in this world, but that we live in God's world. That we value human life, all parts of the created world, and seek to bring about justice and reconciliation for all the world. Extending Connections Activities for Seniors. Junior and Senior High Youth Activities A new format this year for youth ministries. High School youth join the adults in worship service. Some youth will serve as "shepherds" for the church school and will be helping during that time. Senior High youth group will meet on Saturday evenings in a new "coffee house" format. Junior High youth will meet every other Sunday following the worship service/church school time. Music Program Join Ben Luis and Group every Thursday evening at 6:30 pm WELCOME Project Wholistic Energy for Life Community Outreach and Multi-cultural Empowerment--focuses on wholistic approaches to community health that incorporate spirit, mind, and body perspectives while building up the collective strength of the Asian Pacific American community. Workshops of Wonder (W.O.W.) Our church school has moved to a new "rotation model" format this year. Youth Basketball Program This marks our 8th season. We have 12 teams this year, which includes 100 players ranging in age from 6 to 17. Our 4th Annual BVUMC Basketball tournament attended by 55 teams (450 players and more than 700 parents, friends, and relatives) was held on November 17th & 18th at the Alameda Point Gym and Alameda High School. |
