"As far as Comelec is concerned the election last May 10, 2004 was peaceful", states Atty Mijarito, the Comelec Chairman in the Province of Biliran. However, contrary to the statement of Atty. Mijarito, Naval which is the capital town of Biliran Province, experienced for the first time in its history an election protest for the mayorality position.
The protest was demonstrated by the supporters of Danilo Parilla, candidate for mayor in Naval, and other concerned Navalinos who claims the " We are here because We are asking for the truthto be revealed and for justice to be given to the voters of Naval for the election fraud to that happened during the election".
