      "As far as Comelec is concerned the election last May 10, 2004 was peaceful", states Atty Mijarito, the Comelec Chairman in the Province of Biliran. However, contrary to the statement of Atty. Mijarito, Naval which is the capital town of Biliran Province, experienced for the first time in its history an election protest for the mayorality position.

      The protest was demonstrated by the supporters of Danilo Parilla, candidate for mayor in Naval, and other concerned Navalinos who claims the " We are here because We are asking for the truth to be revealed and for justice to be given to the voters of Naval for the election fraud to that happened during the election".

      The protest which started at the early morning of May 12, 2004 ended on May 13, 2004 in the afternon when Atty. Parilla, who led the protest, ask the people to stop before anyone gets hurt.

      It is said that the election froud did not only cover Naval's Mayorality position but also that of the congressional seat.

      Rescently, a formal protest has been submitted to the Regional Trial Court and everythind is now being processed legally.
