The Melody were able to score 23 straight against the Produce to begin the second half.

Big 2nd Half Sparks Melody past Produce

June 6, 2007- Last night at the battlefield, the Melody (1-1) were able to pick up their first win since their historic comeback over the Produce (0-1). This marked the first Melody win since a semi-final victory over the Koala back in 2000.

The game got started with the Melody having the ball. Jay put together a nice drive and was able to soon go up 7-0 for the second straight game. Chris responded with a long drive converting on his first 3rd down, but his second attempt would be knocked away, giving the Melody the ball back, and a 14-0 lead to end the 1st quarter.

Things would pick up for the Produce in the second quarter. After the Melody took a 28-14 lead with just over a minute to go, the Produce would march the ball all the way to cut the lead down to 7. Then on Jay's ensuing Drive, he would turn the ball over on downs. As the clock expired in the half, the Produce caught one last touchdown to go into the break tied a 28

The momentuem was on the Produce's side, having scored the final 14 points of the first half. However, the turning point of the game would occur on the 2nd half throwoff. Chris bobbled the throw and the live ball was picked up by the Melody. Jay soon regained a 7 point lead, 35-28.

On Chris's second play of his next drive, quarterback Ken's pass bounced out of Chris's hands and Jay was able to pick off the ball and run it in for a 44-28 lead. The Melody would then go on to stop the Produce on downs. This lead to Jay's 3rd straight touchdown and a 23 point lead, 51-28.

The two teams exchanged scores the rest of the night, but the lead was too big for Chris to rebound from. Melody win the game 72-56.

Notes:
-This is the first Melody win since July 27, 2000 in a 27 to 24 semi final victory.
-The Produce's 56 points are their highest total all time.
-The 3rd quarter interception is the first ever for the Melody.
-The 23 point lead is the largest in Melody history.
-The 16 point victory is the largest in Melody history.
