The Fear were able to capitalize on two key Melody mistakes to win 72-62 last night.

Fear Defeat Melody

May 23, 2007- Last night at the battlefield, we witnessed a very quality BFL game that featured the Fear (1-0) against the returning BFL Hall of Fame Team, the Melody (0-1). While no one knew what to expect from this game, this game played out just like a classic BFL battle.

The big difference was two mistakes by the Melody, that are expected from a team that is only playing for the first time since 2001. And the Vetern, Sean of the Fear, was able to cash in on both opprotunities.

The game got underway with the Melody on offence. After 3 first downs, Jay wrapped up his first drive back with a touchdown and a 7-0 lead. Sean, however was able to respond with a two play drive which resulted in a barnburner touchdown.

On the Melody's second drive, a short pass was bobbled by Jay and Sean was able to grab on for the interception. Soon, Sean would take a 16-7 lead.

After cutting the score down to 14-16, the Fear were able to return the throw all the way for the Throwoff return and a 23-14 lead. Then on the ensuing throw, the Melody couldn't field the ball and it resulted in a fumble recovery for the Fear, soon Sean would take a 30-14 lead.

The rest of the game was touchdown for touchdown, back and forth. Jay had a few chances for the almost near impossible onside throw, but wasn't able to pull one in. And on this day, the Fear would not be stopped. Sean scored a touchdown on every possession, (except at the end of both halves due to clock) Final score, Fear 72 Melody 62.

Notes:
-First game back for the Melody since 2001 when he played the Black Knights
-The Fear are now 2-4 in season openers, having won 2 of the last 3.
-Teams this year are only 1/11 on onside throw attempts this season, (10 straight misses).
