Falcons Beat Sparrows in Intense Battle

May 30, 2007- This past saturday, one of the newest rivalrys in the BFL, took place between the Falcons (2-0) and the Sparrows (0-1). Both teams pulled out all the stops. On every snap of the ball, the two teams gave there all but in the end, it would be the Falcons who would win it 68-56 and take a 2-1 all time series edge on the Sparrows.

The game got started with a Big throwoff return by the Sparrows. Ken took a 7-0 lead. But Ross would respond with a long drive to knot the score at 7-7. On Ken's second drive, quarterback Jason D. just underthrew an open Ken on 3rd and 1 giving the Falcons the ball back via Defensive stop.

Ross would soon capitalize and take a 14-7 lead. The two team would exchange scores the rest of the half. As time ran out in the half, the Sparrows added one last touchdown to knot the score at 35-35 going into the break.

The game heatened up in the 3rd, with both teams driving the ball for long periods of the game. To start the 4th, the Falcons had a 56-49 lead. Ken would march the ball all the way to the goal line, but Ross would step infront of a Jason Deger pass for the first interception of the game. Soon, Ross would find himself up by 16 points after the touchdown.

On the Sparrows next drive, after a first down, Ken faced a 3rd and 1. This time, Ken bobbled the pass until it hit the ground giving the Falcons the ball back again. Ken would hold Ross to a field goal, but the 19 point lead seemed to large to come back from.

As time expired, the Sparrows scored one last touchdown to cut the lead down to 68-56 as time expired. Great game.

Notes:
-The Falcons lead the series over the Sparrows 2-1.
-The loss snaps a 6 game winning streak for the Sparrows that began after a loss to the Falcons his last game of 2005.
-The Falcons clinch their 3rd straight playoff birth with the win.
