Welcome to Pia Carrot!! 3
The Welcome to Pia Carrot!! series (or Pia Carrot e Youkoso!!) is made by FC02/F&C & was quite popular in Japan. The series started in 1994. Pia Carrot!! 3 was released in 2001. The next true title after Pia Carrot!! 3 is Pia Carrot!! G.O., which was released in 2005. The reason why I made this special section is to basically spread the word about Pia Carrot!! 3.
Chances of getting this game or knowing about it outside of Asia is very slim. Also, there are hardly any English websites out there talking about this game. I only manage to find one.
To those that aren't familiar with the Welcome to Pia Carrot!! series, it's basically an eroge or adult dating simulation anime type game. So people under 18 shouldn't be playing this game, at least the PC & Dreamcast versions. These kind of games are very common in Japan & are a hit with male young adults.
The game's theme is usually having the main male character working at a family restaurant called Pia Carrot & trying to establish a love relationship with one of the female characters working in the restaurant. In order to get the girl, you go through a series of events where you need to make the correct decisions or hit "flags" to make her your girlfriend. There are multiple girls to choose from, which makes the game replay value quite high.
After Welcome to Pia Carrot!! 2, FC02/F&C took this game line into an all age market group with the release of Welcome to Pia Carrot!! 2.2 on Dreamcast which had no hentai scenes in it I think.
Although Welcome to Pia Carrot!! 3 for the PC had hentai scenes in it, the game was later ported to PS2 & Dreamcast. The PS2 console version was made for all ages as all the hentai (H) scenes were removed. I'm not sure of the DC one but the suggested age to play it is 18. Chances are it's a direct port of the PC version with the H scenes.
Welcome to Pia Carrot!! 3.3 followed up as it was released for Game Boy Advance & continues where Welcome to Pia Carrot!! 3 left off.
Welcome Pia Carrot!! 3 is probably the most successful game in the Welcome to Pia Carrot!! series at the time of writing this section due to its widespread of console versions & the huge amount of merchandises available. Even though the game is very old now, its name still creates profit for FC02/F&C through its merchandise sales. But that has now slowed down when Pia Carrot!! G.O. was released. However, some of G.O.'s fan disc include some stuff from the third series.
Welcome to Pia Carrot!! 3 also had been made into a theatrical movie, even though the story isn't based on the Akihiko's point of view. It became the first theatrical movie in the history of Japan that was based on an eroge.
This special Welcome to Pia Carrot!! 3 section is dedicated to that game's success for its long lifespan & I want to people outside of Asia to know about. I have played the game & it is quite interesting. Some of the endings were average, but it was still enjoyable.
Although it's an eroge I'm surprised some of the character's storylines have little H scenes in it. This is a good thing for me personally since I don't like hentai stuff. Like all eroges, you must have at least one sex scene to get the endings.
Although the game is in Japanese, I managed to play it with text translator programs call Oh! Text Hooker & Anime Games Text Hooker (AGTH). Although the words weren't translated properly, it was understandable enough to play it with the help of the game voices & some Japanese knowledge from watching anime.
Don't ask me how I got the game. There are no links here to download the game & game guides to help you. This is strictly to talk about the game's characters & storylines.
