Akemi Hasegawa's Story
This section contains spoilers of Akemi's storyline. This is intended for people who can't get the game or read Japanese to know about her without playing. Unless you want to play the game for yourself, do not read this section.
This is basically a summary of Akemi's storyline. Although I'm not giving out gaming tips on how to get her, the summary may give away clues on how to obtain her ending.
Her Story
Akihiko meets Akemi for the first time at #4. There, she introduces herself to him as a manager applicant. He finds out that she's trying to be approved to be the manager of Pia Carrot #4. He learns that she's friends with Natsuki, the current Pia Carrot #4 manager, & they used to go to the same schools together from elementary school onwards. Also, he sees the new uniforms for the female staff & hears about the company gathering.
When Akihiko goes to his dorm, he learns that Akemi is living there too when he accidentally enters her room & sees her changing when Takako gave him the wrong keys & room number.
At the company gathering, Akihiko takes some time to talk to Akemi. He also discovers about her clumsy & worrisome character from her actions which was the concern of getting 20KG of food for the occassion. Thinking it was too much, it was actually enough as Noburu & Takako manages to eat a huge chuck of it.
Time passes since Pia Carrot #4 opened & Akihiko started working. He sees how hard Akemi works in providing service to the customers & caring for the staff. One time, she fixes his bowtie for him when she saw it out of place.
There are situations where Akemi has very high concerns for the restaurant that she goes there to check many times on her days off. So impressed of her actions & character, he praises her & believes she will make a fine manager for Pia Carrot #4.
There was one situation where she accidentally spills some juice on a customer's leg. Nervously, she tries to clean him up but ends up cause more problems by breaking a lot of tableware on his table. Trying to help her, Akihiko is stopped by Natsuki who covers for Akemi. After the incident, he cheers Akemi up in the office by saying how people make blunders at times.
At the end of the day & the company meeting, Akihiko decides to see how Akemi is doing as he tells Tomomi & Noburu to go back to the dorm first. As he goes back into the restaurant, Akihiko hears Natsuki yelling at Akemi in the office. Natsuki scolds Akemi about the spilling situation & tells her that this is different from university as she's in the working society now.
Ending the scolding, Natsuki makes a comment on how Akemi is still the same kind of person she was in school. Seeing Akemi crying & apologizing to Natsuki, Akihiko leaves.
The following day after that incident, Akihiko drops by #4 to see how Akemi is doing from that situation. Seeing that she is fine, he feels relived. Plus, he has some sort of chore in wanting to see & talk to her.
There was one incident where Akemi manages to prove her work skills for #4. A couple were trying to calm down their crying child whose is making a lot of noise & disrupting the customers. Natsuki, who's not good with children, asks Akemi for help as some of the customers were getting annoyed from the child's screams. Akemi resolves the problem by playing with the child with two plush dolls from the restaurant's shop, making cat & dog sounds. She gives the child both dolls & the problem is resolved. In the office, Akihiko praises Akemi for her performance. However, she was embarrassed of the animal sounds she made.
When the national holidays arrived & Pia Carrot #4 closed, Akihiko decides to invites Akemi to the beach. Akemi hesitates at first saying she's being older than him by four or five years & how he could have gone for the younger girls. When Akihiko tells her that he just wants to be two people together, Akemi agrees to go after some thought.
At the beach, Akemi & Akihiko have some fun by renting a boat to row into the ocean. At times, Akemi would cling onto Akihiko due to the rough waves. During these moments, the two would be embarrassed & Akihiko starts to see Akemi differently.
When Akihiko goes to get some drinks & comes back, he finds Akemi asleep. Thinking how exhausted from all the work she has been through lately, he lets her sleep. When she wakes up around sunset, Akemi panics as she is suppose to meet with Natsuki in less than a hour.
Akihiko & Akemi rush back to the dorm in order for her to attend her meeting with Natsuki in time. Before going back to her room, she thanks Akihiko for taking her to the beach & hope to have another date again.
Later that night, Akihiko wakes up from knocking sounds on his door. He finds a drunk Akemi sitting by his door as she discovers that she's not in front of her room. From her slurred speech, he hears that she had a fight with Natsuki.
As Akemi isabout to fall asleep outside his room, he takes her in his room & put her down on his bed. During her sleeping state, he thinks about the beach date & how she's grown to him as he looks at her sleepy face. Instead of support her with work, he develops other feelings.
When Akemi wakes up, she discovers the problem she has caused to Akihiko. After learning that she was drunk, Akemi talks about her fight with Natsuki about her manager applicant. She talks about how Natsuki is right & how #4 will suffer if she was the manager right now. When Akihiko gives his opinion on how Natsuki would be a better manager overall as Akemi asks him, he tells her that he'll show his support for her as she still has time left.
Unable to regain her balance yet, Akihiko has Akemi stay in his room for the night. Once they agree, Akemi decides to have a small talk with him first before going to sleep.
The talk between Akihiko & Akemi is about siblings which she has none. Akemi tells Akihiko about how she would like a little brother as kind as him who would depend on her a lot after meeting his big sister, Shiro. After deciding to be his kind onee-san (Japanese for big sister), Akemi & Akihiko establish a love relationship which would be kept in secret from the #4 staff as it could hurt her chances in being a manager.
When Akemi & Akihiko wake up the next morning, they confirm with each other that their feelings for one another is genuine. Akemi would later mention about the summer fair to him & both agree to go together.
At night, Akihiko & Akemi go to a summer festival in secret. Here, he sees Akemi's childish side & how she's being true to him.
Time passes & Akemi becomes very attached to Akihiko. In one incident where she finds him talking to Tomoni friendly, Akemi scolds him for flirting with other staff members in the workplace. She would later apologize to him & ask for his forgiveness as she felt that he was playing around with other girls.
From this point on every time Akemi sees Akihiko, she gets embarrassed as he teases her. She's so much into him that she visits his room at times when she gets off work late just to see his face. Despite her high affection for him, her work performance doesn't hinder very much.
Days later, the owner of Pia Carrot phones #4 as Akihiko answers. He gives the phone to Akemi as the owner was looking for the manager or manager applicant. The conversation was about the owner coming to #4 on August 27th for inspection.
From Akemi, it will be the owner giving his letter of acceptance to her when he comes to evaluate her. Thinking that she got the manager position, Akihiko hears a different story from Noburu.
As Noburu has connections since the owner is his uncle, he got the same news. But the owner will be deciding who will be the manager of #4 between Akemi & Natsuki. To Akihiko's surprise, Natsuki is a manager applicant as well. Noboru thinks that Natsuki is more fit for the position.
The private conversation in the office stops when Akemi drops her serving tray in the room & Noboru quickly leaves. Feeling depressed, Akihiko comforts Akemi & continues to show his support as the decision isn't final yet.
During the Hokkaido trip, Akemi & Akihiko spend some time together at the marketplace. He learns how to distinguish crab types from her when she is trying to buy some crabs for her family back home.
During the afternoon before the cart lift trip, Akihiko bumps into Akemi outside. Initially, she wanted to invite him to her room at night until Natsuki shows up & suggest to Akemi that they should have a drink together. In the end, Akemi still decides to invite Akihiko.
At the top of the hill from the cart lift trip, Akihiko & Akemi secretly meet. She asks him what he will do with his future after he finishes his schooling. He answers her by saying he will quit working for Pia Carrot #2 when he graduates from university.
Telling her that he hasn't think that far yet, Akemi suggests that Akihiko should work at #4 & they'll work & spend more time together. Hearing this, Akihiko tells her that he was planning to do that which makes her happy.
At the night of the drinking session, Akihiko with his oolong tea learns more about the relationship between Akemi & Natsuki from their younger years. How they lived close by, the schools they went, & hinting on some of their embarrassing secrets. The talk would later shift about the owner's inspection day. They celebrate on Akemi's success early for her.
The next day, the #4 staff would visit a farm. When Akemi receives a bottle of freshly squeezed cow milk from Natsuki, she makes a comment on how she likes "milk" & loves to drink it everyday. This remark gives Natsuki & Akihiko a different idea & Natstuki tells Akihiko not to laugh about it.
The day after coming back from Hokkaido which is still a holiday, Akihiko finds Akemi going out. After Akemi allows him to come with her, they arrive at #4. Although it was closed, she was concern about the place. He discovers that Akemi really has a strong attachment to the restaurant & her role as a manager.
The next day, the Pia Carrot owner makes a visit to inspect the restaurant. Before leaving work, Akihiko finds the owner in the office. The owner tells him that he'll give the letter of acceptance after he hears input from the #4 staff. If the opinions are positive, he'll hire Akemi. After he gives the owner his positive opinion for Akemi, she & Natsuki come to the office. He tells Akemi to leave for awhile as he wants to talk to Natsuki first . This causes Akemi to be worried & concerned.
At night, Akihiko decides to visit Akemi's room as he's worried about her. She briefly tells him that she got accepted as a manager. Relieved, he quickly congratulates her which makes her happy. However, he doesn't know the truth behind it.
The next day is the last day for Akihiko to work at #4. He doesn't see Akemi at work until Natsuki tells him that Akemi didn't come in & will call the dorm to see where she is. At the end of his work shift, Natsuki tells him that Akemi still hasn't shown up.
Akihiko discovered from Natsuki that Akemi didn't get the manager position since the head office has put the decision on hold temporary. Feeling bad of what he said to Akemi last night, he goes out to look for Akemi all over the town. He finally finds her at the beach at night.
Akemi sits by the shore depressed about being declined from the manager position & how the #4 employees feel she's not ready yet. Akihiko cheers her up about how she can get it next time since she cares a lot about #4 & nothing is finalized yet. Plus, he tells her that her current attitude won't get that manager position. Also, he wanted her to see him off with a smile as he leaves #4.
After comforting Akemi, she & Akihiko head back to the restaurant when she receives a surprise. When they walk in, the #4 staff surprise her with a congratulatory party for being accepted as the manager for Pia Carrot #4. The head office called Natsuki & told her that Akemi was accepted by the owner. The story ends with Akemi in tears thanking everyone for their support & how she'll be at #4 forever.
