| PromoFACT was established by VideoFACT in conjunction with the Fall, 1998 launch of MuchMoreMusic to stimulate the production of Electronic Press Kits (EPK's) and Web Sites for Canadian independent artists and record labels. PromoFACT is sponsored exclusively by MuchMoreMusic. | ||||||
| ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR EPK APPLICATIONS: | ||||||
| CANADIAN CONTENT (as defined by the CRTC): At least two of the audio components (for the current sound recording and the majority of the musical works included on the EPK): a) "M" - music is composed by a Canadian; b) "A" - artist (principal performer) is a Canadian; c) "P" - performance/production is in Canada; d) "L" - lyrics are written by a Canadian At least one of the video components: e) video director or production company is Canadian; f) video production facilities are located in Canada | ||||||
| CANADIAN OWNERSHIP: Canadian-controlled record labels, record or video production companies and Canadian citizens (or landed immigrants) including producers, managers and artists are eligible to apply to PromoFACT. The rights to both the master sound recording and the master EPK must be owned by a Canadian company or Canadian citizen (or landed immigrant). | ||||||
| NEW PRODUCTION: The objective of PromoFACT is to stimulate the production of EPKs, not to replace funds already allocated towards production. Completed EPKs will not be considered for financing. | ||||||
| CURRENT SOUND RECORDINGS: PromoFACT supports proposals for EPKs intended to promote current, active or forthcoming sound recordings as opposed to catalogue titles. | ||||||
| MUSICAL GENRE: PromoFACT is sponsored exclusively by MuchMoreMusic. Adult contemporary, light rock, soul, jazz, r&b, reggae and new age projects are eligible for support. | ||||||

| HOW MUCH MONEY IS AVAILABLE? The PromoFACT award covers up to 50% of the production budget to a maximum of $3,500. Payment of the award is made upon receipt of the final product. | ||||||
| WHO CAN APPLY? Requests for financing may come from record companies, artist managers, record producers, video directors or producers, web site designers, artists--basically anyone involved in the production of the project. | ||||||
| HOW ARE DECISIONS MADE? In judging applications for web sites and epks, the PromoFACT Board of Directors makes its awards based on the creative presentation and financial requirements. Applicants must submit their current sound recording and/or relevant selections from their catalogue (please see eligibility criteria for more details); visual concepts and production budgets. | ||||||
