There are still 1,986 Americans unaccounted for from the Vietnam War. We need to bring them home.

Come on in and hang out a while. Get comfy in the ol' hammock and let the breezes flow.

"Faith of the Heart"

(Written by Diane Warren.... performed by Russell Watson)

It's been a long road getting from there to here
It's been a long time, but my time is finally near
and I can feel the change in the wind right now
Nothing's in my way
and they're not gonna hold me down no more
No they're not gonna hold me down
Cause I've got faith of the heart I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul and no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star, I've got faith, I've got I've got I've got faith....faith of the heart

It's been a long night trying to find my way
Been through the darkness, now I've finally had my day
and I will see my dream come alive at last I will touch the sky
And they're not gonna hold me down no more no they're not gonna change my mind

Cause I've got faith of the heart I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul and no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star, I've got faith, I've got I've got I've got faith....faith of the heart

I'm going where the winds so cold, to see the darkest days
But now the winds are free...only winds have changed
I've been to the fire and I've been to the rain
But I'll be fine cause I've got faith, faith of the heart

Cause I've got faith of the heart I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul and no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star, I've got , I've got I've got I've got faith....faith of the heart
faith of the heart I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got strength of the soul and no one's gonna bend or break
I can reach any star, cause I've got faith, cause I've got faith, faith of the heart

It's been a long road....

"A child's work is fresh and new and beautiful, full of wonder and excitement. It is our misfortune that for most of us that clear-eyed vision, that true instinct for what is beautiful and awe-inspiring, is dimmed and even lost before we reach adulthood." ~~ Rachel Carson

Hi! And welcome to my home on the web. This one has a personal journal of my life, starting from when I was a baby til now. You will find out more about me here than you ever wanted to know! LOL So, come along on my journey into my past and see what makes me so facinating! I also have included some pages of favorite quotes and some pages on parenting...lessons I have learned in over 26 yrs of parenting. Please read my Solo Parenting page, too.

I am going to incorporate the best parts of all of my other sites, and put some important links to other sites here so if you are looking for something in particular, you will be able to find it.

Just an intro to my life:

Life as it is...

Yes, I am going to get philosophical here... yeah, right!

I have had a very interesting and very full life. I may not have had much money or a great big house, but I had my kids and I had a lot of love both given to me and given from me. I chose to have my two kids when I was single. I chose to marry a man who I thought would give my kids a dad figure, but I was wrong. He was abusive and I made the absolute correct choice to leave him.

During the past 30 years I have learned that not all is as it seems. One must look past the obvious and see what is truly there. Throughout the past 30 years I have been homeless a number of times, and although others may think I should be ashamed of it or hide it, I have realized that there is more to life than how much money you make, what kind of house you live in, or what your profession is. It takes a very strong person to live a homeless life, to be subjected to all kinds of prejudices, to wonder where your next meal will come from or if your kids have had enough to eat. It takes a strong person to be able to gather enough strength to move on to something else, whether that be better or worse is entirely the individual's decision.

I do not tell you that I have been homeless to elicit pity or sympathy. I tell you this because it has made me who I am today, a strong woman with a strong will, a woman who knows what life is truly about. It is not about the size of my home, or the degree that I have or do not have. It is not about whether my kids had two parents in their lives, or they had one....it is about the fact my children knew love, unconditional love, and they grew up to be spectacular people. They were absolutely the best kids in my world. Sure, like all kids, there were moments when I wondered if I was doing the right thing by them, but I realized that they thought I was the cat's meow, that they thought I was doing right by them, no matter what we did, where our lives and adventures took us. They were exposed to many different cultures in our own country. They saw and visited 39 states. They lived in 10 states, but many different parts of those states. They saw how the conservative middle America lives. They saw how the radical part of America lived. They saw what it was like to be out in the world, homeless where no one really cared if you lived or died, and they learned to be self-sufficient because of that. They got an education that many kids who have lived in one house their whole lives, who have gone to one school, or group of schools, in their entire lives, would never experience.

Because of all of this, I think I had a very good life. I would not give it up for anything. I have become who I am because of who I was.
