Pole Vault
Pole Vaulting is a sport a lot of girls have never heard of. Other girls might think it is a sport that only skilled athletes can perform. Or you might just think that it's the sport where you throw a pole. Neither of these statements are accurate statements about actual pole vault. Pole vaulting isn't for everyone, but everyone can defnitely give it a shot.
To pole vault you run down the run way, plant the pole (see picture on right), swing up and have to make it over a bar without knocking it off. Pole vaulting can be a hard sport to learn and it is defnitely recommended that if you want to give this unique sport a chance that you have a coach who knows what they are doing. This way they can give you tips on technique as well as make sure you are safe while practicing. Pole vaulting really only involves a small amount of equipment - but those few items add up to a very large cost. You need a pole that are mainly $300+ dollars and very expensive pole vault mats so you can safely land. At first this isn't as important, but as you start making more and more heights this becomes very important for your safety.
