Harper College ASL Club Spring 2003 Events |
Hi Everyone! ASL Club seeks volunteers for this event. [However, all ASL students are welcome to attend; you are not required to volunteer.] ASL Club is incurring the cost of renting the rink, so there will be no entrance fee. In lieu of an entrance fee, it would be appreciated if you can bring some snacks or juice for the kids (i.e., brownies, rice krispie treats, cookies,...) Please contact Gina if you are interested in volunteering or bringing something. (It would help to know about "goodies" before we go out and purchase snacks.) Thanks! Rollerskating Party for Deaf/HH/Koda Kids and their Families All Children Must Have Adult Supervision -- Thank You! Skate at your own risk: Harper College, ASL Club and WSAD are not responsible or liable for injury. A signed release must be completed before entering the skating rink.

Joel is interested in starting a monthly social at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL. This idea was successfully started in a mall in California; it continues to flourish. 2002-2003 President, Gina Mulroy, focuses most of her time and energy on events for Deaf kids. She cannot do both. So she and Joel are seeking a few students who are interested in working with Joel to get the mall social "up and running." It is not a lot of work: contact the mall business office for approval, make fliers, distribute fliers, show up at the event. Once the initial contacts are made for approval, it is just a matter of distributing fliers and announcing the event each month. We are hoping to find some students to "link up" with Joel and get the ball rolling. He is eager to get plans for this idea moving along. The goal is to start the mall social in February 2003, after the semester begins. To help out--in any way--contact Gina Mulroy, ASL Club President. Gina is compiling names and preferred tasks for Joel. THANKS! |
