Certainly. | (Agree with the Council) |
Certainly, but... | (Agree, but ask about the funeral. They refuse |
and imply you are after the Captaincy.) |
After she leaves, a brief conversation among the Council members hints that they may need Chris to die in battle to keep her an 'eternal hero'.
Outside, you meet with Borus and Salome outside your house, and they agree to meet you after you've rested. You gain control of the character, but if you try to leave the city, you stop declaring you need rest. To rest, go into your house; you are given a choice:
I need some rest. | (You rest and continue the story) |
How about a walk? | (You walk around the town some more) |
After you've rested, you meet the others (Borus, Louis, Percival, Leo, Salome, and Roland) at the city entrance. They are teasing each other and you. When Percival says he's jealous of you, you are given a choice:
Can you... | (Ask them to stop teasing) |
I don't mind... | (Turn the joke on Percival instead) |
You again gain control of Chris, Louis, Borus, and Salome join your party while Leo and Percival go off to do some duties. You are permitted to reenter Vinay del Zexay if you wish. The other areas open to you are Zexen Forest and Brass Castle West Courtyard.
To continue the story, you need to go through the Zexen Forest.
As soon as you enter the Brass Castle West Courtyard, you lose control of Chris. You also lose any chance to use Salome until after you get to Flame Champion Four [F0].
The scene shifts instantly into the
You have control of Chris, but none of the shops are staffed. You need to go all the way to the end of the Courtyard to encounter Borus and Dupa (a Lizard Warrior) arguing. When Dupa relays his message, you are given two choices:
As soon as this confrontation is concluded, you again regain control of Chris and all shops are staffed. You need to go back to the Brass Castle Interior to continue the story.
Once in Brass Castle Interior, you need to go to your room to rest to continue the story. However, Vinay del Zexay, Yaza Plain, and Zexen Forest have still not been barred from you. Inside your room, you need to talk to Louis to get two choices:
When you choose to rest, you will automatically jump to the next scene, with no control over Chris. You will be on the Plain Amur.
Chris and her men will meet with several Grassland representatives (Beecham, Lucia, Shiba, Dupa, and Sana). They make their negotiations and the Grasslanders start to celebrate as the Zexens discuss the chill in the air. Suddenly, a surprise attack by Lizard Warriors comes from the rear and you must play out your first Strategy Battle [C1a].
Once you have a Safe Retreat, you will still be on the Plain Amur. Salome makes a new plan to burn the houses in Karaya Village, though he insists they are to leave the villagers alive.
You have small control over Chris, but cannot leave the Village road. Once you get her and her horse in front of Jimba's house, you will see armor sitting in front which Chris recognizes. She then is attacked unexpectedly by Lulu and defends herself, resulting in a verbal confrontation with Hugo (no matter if [H1] was played out first and what choices you made there). During your confrontation with Hugo, Sergeant Joe steps in and you head further into the village to rejoin your men. Roland and Salome are with you now, and you have small control over your party.
You have to travel to the back of the village, confronting two sets of Four Karayan Fighters along the way, which you must defeat both times. At the back of the village, children and villagers have been slaughters, and it is thought that Borus was the one who disobeyed orders and did this in anger. Chris gets angry and orders everyone home.
You are taken immediately to your bedroom where you get control of Chris and Louis joins your party. Your goal is to go to the Knight's Tea Room next door to discuss the attack with Salome, Roland, and Borus. You get orders to go to Vinay del Zexay to discuss the attack with the Council. Going downstairs with only Louis, you run into Leo and Percival at the West exit. They lament not being there to help, mentioning having chased a rat and lost it.
Once outside, you will see Borus with some horses by the west exit of the Courtyard. When you approach, he will discuss the trip with you then you get two choices:
The places now open to you for exploration are: Vinay del Zexey, Zexen Forest, Plain Amur, Karaya Ruins, and Brass Castle East Courtyard, West Courtyard, and Interior. To continue the story, head for the Zexen Forest.
At the cross roads of the forest, you encounter Fred and Rico who ask you questions [H1a]. You need to go to Vinay del Zexay.
Once inside the city, you can wander freely, but must go to the Guild Hall to continue the story. Upon approaching the Guild Hall, the guard immediately shows you inside.
Inside, you are led to the Church where you are required to wait until a Civil Servant comes for you. You have no control over Chris. Once you are summoned, you are in front of the Council, who promotes you officially to Captain and order you to attack Grassland again. Chris gets mad, but has no apparent choice and leaves.
Once you are outside again, you meet with Louis and Borus who bring you home. You go inside where your Butler comes to talk to you. You now have an Optional Extra Scene if you meet the circumstances [C1c]). After this talk with the Butler, the chapter ends and you will be taken to the Trinity Site.
