The strategies to achieve
comfortable indoor temperatures are defined in terms of a need to reduce
or increase the heat flow, depending on the hourly air temperature. Concepts
are related to colors: red is for conduction, blue for convection and yellow
for radiation. A dark color indicates the need to increase the flow and
a light color indicates the need to reduce the flow. The predominance of
a color would indicate that a specific principle is more important than
the rest. Certain principles might also be more important during the night
or during the day.

Selection of Guidelines According to Results
The arrows are links which
lead you to specific guidelines which will help you to design a climate
responsive building envelope. The colors are related to the colors in the
Hourly Strategies Matrixes. For example many dark blue cells in the matrix
indicate that you should use the guidelines in the dark blue section with
more intensity than the rest.
