Block Heat Flows by Convection
The building should be compact and opaque.

Some strategies to achieve this are:

1. Adequate window design and position

2. Adequate form and orientation of the building

Zones:
The "block convection zone” goes down from 21 C (70F) and up, above 32 C (90 F). Below 21 C the air will be so cold, that if it is introduced inside the building it will lower indoor temperature to an uncomfortable value. Between 24 and 32 C it can still be useful to achieve comfort by air movement, but above 32 C the air will be so hot that if it is introduced inside the building, the indoor temperature will rise to an uncomfortable value, even if there is air motion.
