Chapter 23

I guess I was right when I said nothing was ever easy. Just when we thought we could make it back to Camp within two hours or so all thanks to Chris mapping out the halls. Although, when we come out to the halls, we find that the halls have changed. Making Chris map useless. Now we're back to the beginning again.

The last time we were in the halls, there was a dead-end, making us stop right here to check on room where we found Jennifer and shadow-like monster. After killing the monster and saving Jennifer, we decided to stay there for the night. Although when we come back out to the halls, we find no dead-end where its supposed to be.

"It's times this that make me want crawl in a hole and die." grumbled Mac.

Chris looked at his map, I don't get it. Where are we? Did we move? Or did the halls literally change on us?"

"Crap. Now we have to find our way back. For all we know, we could be on the other side of this demonic school!" Conner pointed out.

Chris was looking at his map, trying to figure out what happened. Jenn was comforting Jennifer, Callie was saying something to her brother. And Hannah was arguing with Mac and Connor.

Rick looked different; he looked determined, more open than before. He walked over to Chris, "The time was disordered, right? Why not the space be disordered as well?"

Chris looked up with thoughtful glace to Rick, "Oh my god! Your right! A time and space disorder! That would explain a lot! So that's why people are never found agaain when theyre out here in the halls. Because it's like a maze that's always changing! The possibility of finding an exit would be like finding a needle in a hay stack!"

"Well great, that's good news to hear." Callie sarcastically.

"Now what do you propose we do?" I asked.

"The map idea is useless now," Chris stuffed his map into his backpack, "So I guess we continue walking, it's the best and only thing left to do. I mean, were lost either way."

Addison muttered, "So what your saying is that us making back to Camp will totally depend on our luck?"

          Chris smiled, "Yep!"

"Oh great, we're all doomed than."

We were walking rather quickly, wanting to find the Camp as soon as possible. But what was eerie was that everyone was silent. Either everyone had nothing to say, or they all had the same idea on their minds; not wanting to attract any monsters.

We had stayed in formation as we had before, Addison was in the lead and Brent was at the end, watching our backs. Mac and Connor were on the sides, protecting the rest of us. Everyone had their guns out, all expect Rick and Jennifer.

Within the first fifteen minuets, we came across a door. Room 21.

"Ok, Mac, Connor. Be careful, remember what was inside the room last time, and this time, it might not be bounded to the room like the other one. Be ready to shoot anything that doesn't look human. But beware that there might be people inside, so be careful." Chris explained.

Mac and Connor both looked at Chris, "Man, just shut up. You're making us all paranoid!"

Chris backed away from them, "Just making sure."

Mac looked at Connor, "You ready?" Connor nodded, "Nothing like the present, right?"

Mac looked at the door, "On the count of three, ok?" Connor nodded and got his weapon ready. Mac brought his hand on the doorknob and readied his gun. "One.... Two... Th---!" Connor interrupted, "Wait, Wait, wait! One, two, three, go? Or one, two, three, and than go?"

Mac looked like he was about to rip Connor head off, "One, Two, Three, you idiot!!"

Connor looked embarrassed, "ok, ok, just making sure."

Mac looked annoyed, "Now let's try this again. One... Two.... Three!" And he turned the doorknob but the door didnt open.

We waited there for a couple of seconds, complete silence. Connor looked down to Mac, "Hey! What the hell?! You said to open it on three! What are you waiting for?! Mac slowly raised his head to face Connor, "It's locked."

The stupid of this moment was so thick, it was like pudding. Callie just pushed Mac and Connor out of the way, "God, can you be stupider than that? Like seriously, why didn't you just say it was locked than to have us wait in suspense?" Mac was silently mocking Callie.

"Let me do my job," Callie said as she took out her pins from her backpack and started picking at the lock. Within a few seconds, she had the door unlock. She backed up and let Mac and Connor take over. Mac was ready to open the door and Connor was ready to shoot at anything.

Mac counted down, "One... Two... Three!" And with that, he opened up the door.

The door opened slowly and silently to reveal a room with nothing in it. The room was lit, and the classroom had it's desks all lined up like it always before. But there's nothing in here that we wanted, no food, no people, nothing.

            ___________________________________________________________________________

After checking the empty room for anything useful, we left it empty handed. We continued down the halls. We came across many doors after that last one, it seemed like every turn we did, there was a door to down that hall.

Some rooms where locked, others were not. Some had monsters in them, in which we quickly checked for any humans in there and shut the door before the monster noticed us. Sometime though, it was close call, with the monster running towards us before we closed the door on them. We even had to shoot some of them.

Other rooms we came across where filled with skeletons covered in dust. Some of the skeletons we could make out 'who' they were... which sadden us, since we knew most of them.

             __________________________________________________________________________

Onetwo three! Mac opened the door with Connor pointing his shotgun in the room we just came across. We smelt something awful coming from within the room, and the first thought that came to us was that it was rotten food. And we were hoping that most of that food in there would be canned or something that doesnt rot. But when we opened the door, we saw what we didnt want to see.

We didnt see food rotten away beyond belief Instead, we saw rotten corpses. Yes. Corpses that have long been dead. Oh my god Hannah said when she saw the corpses. Callie was vomiting when she saw them. We were disgusted. They were ripped apart and eaten. The most horrifying part of this is the expressions on their faces. Imagine the horror of being eaten alive, and thats what their faces would look like.

We just had to shut the door after that. We sat against the wall all in silence. Never, Never have I seen this horrified scene before, the movies arent as horrifying as most think until you actually see it! But our silence wasnt long, only a few minuets have passed since we saw the horrifying corpses with that room. The halls echoed with a thumping sound.

It sounds like someone walking with big and heavy boots. The sound was followed with a growl of some deep mans voice. The whole halls were echoing with these sounds, coming from all over the place.

Around the corner of the halls, a monstrous human-like figure came around the corner. It was as tall as the ceiling, probably bigger, and was as wide as the halls. Was covered in black armour and carried a long sword and huge shield. It stopped and looked at us. But before it, a shadow-like figure appeared from the ground. It was basically like a human, although it was complete like a shadow, and the only definition was his Red eyes.

The shadow-human looked at us and spoke, Well now, looks like we have some fresh meat for us to eat.
