Chapter 22
When Chris threw in that flash bomb, there was no sound, except from the flash bomb bouncing on the floor. One, Chris said as he counted down to three, where the bomb will explode. There was the no sound. Was the monster going to go for it?
My question was answered. The shadows were moving again, and the sound of the movement of the monster wasnt loud enough to cover over the sounds of Jennifer weeping within the room. Two Chris said.
The sound of the monster died down. Back to where you can only hear Jennifer weeping. Three. Chris whisper, than all of a sudden the bomb exploded with light blinding us, even with our eyes closed
It took me about 30 seconds to see clearly again after the flash bomb exploded. And it was probably like that for the others as well. After a couple of blinks, I looked around me only to see that everyone was also recovering from the flash. Mac and Connor were looking into the room confused, Did we get him?
Connor threw his hat into the room. Everyone waited for about a minuet before Connor concluded, Guess we fried his ass. Than he stepped into the room to get his hat, See? No mons----! We all got scared, we couldnt see into the room and no one dared to walk into the room where the monster could very well be alive! Did the monster survive!?
Connor!? Mac screamed in a scared voice. All you hear is something moving in there, although, it doesnt sound like monster. Im ok! I just tripped on something in here, this room is really dark in here! Everyone just stood there with looks annoyance on there face. CONNOR!!! Dont ever do that again! You scared us all to death! Mac shouted.
Oh! Look at what I tripped on! Connor put the flashlight on, and looked around. He walked over to Jennifer and looked at us, Well, now that the monster is gone. What are we going to do about the lights? I mean, this flashlight wont last forever?
Brent walked in the room and stood in the middle, inspecting the room, And what exactly makes you think that well need the lights for? Its not like were going to stay in this room. Chris walked to Connor and took the flashlight from him and looked around, Well, I dont know about you. But Im tired, and Jennifer will is in no condition to walk around with monster in the hall. So, I think its best that we stay in this room for the night and leave the next morning to Camp, so that Jennifer can get some real treatment. Ok?
Hannah ran into the room, shoving pass Callie to get in. Hannah ran to Jennifer, Agreed, now turn on the lights, Chris, so that I can see how Jennifer is doing.
Chris took a screwdriver from within his backpack and looked for the light switch. When he found it, he pulled it apart from the wall and was playing around with the wiring and all, while he was holding the flashlight in his mouth. After a few minuets, he put it back into the wall and flipped the switch; the lights came on.
Only half the lights turned on. The other ones where broken, shattered to pieces. The room was a total disaster; it was like a tornado came by or something. All the desks were shoved to the walls, most of them were upside down or on their sides. The chairs where piled up on top or the desks, or on the floor. There were books and tons of paper scattered all over the place. Never have I seen a classroom like this.

So we decided to stay here. Mac, Connor, Addison and Brent took turns at staying guard beside the door, in case any monster comes by or something. And when they werent on guard, they were sleeping.
As for Callie, out like a light bulb. She a person who just happens to lazy and sleeps all day. So after running around for a while, she got tired and dozed of to sleep.
Chris was writing stuff down in his notebook while taking to Rick. In which Im glad, because Rick was actually getting accepted. Hes not a prisoner anymore. Not a stranger anymore. They were having a normal conversation; well, as normal as conversations come with Chris and Rick. Chris would start laughing, while Rick just smiled and nodded.
Hannah was with Jennifer, talking to her and making her calm. Although there was no physical damage done to her, her mind was damaged damaged badly. She was afraid of the dark, afraid of every shadow.
Jenn was far from Jennifer. Leaning against the wall, looking away from Jennifer with a sad expression on her face. In which I was surprised. For Jenn didnt seem like the type to be sad, or to stay away from the person she called sister.
I walked over to Jenn, Jenn? Are you ok? Jenn quickly turned her frown into a smile, Yep, better than ever!
Jenn Always the person to cheer people up or to lighten ups the mood. Always happy, and when shes mad, she fools around with that anger; in other words, she still makes people happy due to her childish behaviours. She always seems to hyper and laughing or making people laugh. Ive never seen her sad before. Ive always seen a smile on her Although, Ive wonder before if she ever knew what sadness truly was Today I found my answer.
Jenn. Why arent with Jennifer?
She quickly looked away, and that smile that was on her face a few moments ago disappeared back to a frown. She stayed silent.
Jenn, I dont understand why you arent with Jennifer. I thought youd be happy to have finally saved her from this nightmare! I thought youd be happy to see her alive
It looked like Jenn was about to cry, I am but but
But what, Jenn?
Look at her! What do you see?! She pointed at Jennifer without looking herself, What do you see, Rachel?!
I-I see Jennifer.
Well, I dont! I see the old happy image of Jennifer shattered to pieces She told me face-to-face, with tears falling down her face. This isnt the Jennifer I use to know! She was happy, free, and sane. Now shes shes someone else
Well, you couldnt have done anything about it, Jenn! I told her.
No, your wrong. I could have done something to prevent this!
Oh?! How?! How could you have prevented this?!
She was crying silently while trying to think of something to say back to my question. But I was right. She couldnt have done anything, Look Jenn You couldnt help prevent this from happening, but you can help her now. She needs you now, more than ever. Go to her, Jenn.
She looked me, wiped her tears off of her face, Youre right, Rachel. You always are And with that, she took off with her smile on her face again. She went to Jennifer and they started to talk. Jenn still probably hates to see Jennifer like this, but shes doing a good job hiding it.

We slept there for the night, or tried to Most of us were too scared to go to sleep. Jenn and Jennifer were talking most the night. We found out that Jennifer was here for only two days.
She told us that when the monster came and attacked the school, her and some of other people came to this room. But in the panic Jennifer was knocked to the floor from someone, than the lights went off and thats when the monster started to kill everyone one by one. Chris concluded that because Jennifer was frozen with fear. Thats would explain why shes still alive.
Jennifer wasnt as insane as she was before, she doesnt talk to herself anymore at least. But shes still afraid of the dark. She also clings on to Jenn, in which Jenn has promised her to always protect her. A promise Jenn wont forget.
We decided that were going to leave this room of dreadful memories from Jennifer, and put her into Camp where shell get help from the kids there. When we get there, Jenn will stay with Jennifer while the rest of us take off to look for some food and more survivors.
The plan seemed simple enough. Although, I highly doubt that it will be anything like that. Nothing is ever easy. Ive learned that the hard way. And Im sure everyone has at one point in his or her life. And when it is, theres always something bad about it.
Well, now that we have the plan patted down. Lets get going. I say we came make it there with an hour or two. Chris said with assurance. Hannah spoke, Oh? And what makes you so confident about this? Its a maze out there, in case you havent noticed!
Chris said proudly, Youd be lost if you didnt know where your going! But we do! And its all thanks to me that we have a map! Everyone totally forgot about Chris mapping out the halls. Now lets go! The sooner, the better! And with that, we opened the doors to the hallway.
Ok, mister smarty-pants. Which way do we go? Mac asked as we stepped out into the halls. Chris looked at his map, What do you mean? There should only be one way to go. The other way should be a dead end.
We all looked down one hall to the other, only to see that there was no dead end. Chris looked down at his map, Uh-oh Dont tell me that the halls changed!?
