Chapter 21

          �JENNIFER!� Jenn yelled at the site of seeing her lost sister. Did I say sister? Well� it�s kind of right, but kind of wrong too. You see, Jenn and Jennifer live together, but their not sisters. Their parents aren�t married together, and Jennifer isn�t Jenn sister-in-law. And what�s even more confusing is that they almost look like sisters. Both have blond hair, same height, and they even carry the same name; Jennifer. The only difference is their personality and past history.

           �DON�T COME IN HERE!� Jennifer yelled back. Everyone just stopped moving and practically stopped breathing as well. Jenn was scared, �W-what do you mean? What�s going on Jennifer?�

           Jennifer spoke in a scared voice, �It�s o-out there! Watch out! Don�t move! Mustn�t move.� She�s muttering to herself. It was actually sad to see her this way, she looked like a mad person. Someone whose lost her sanity along time ago�

           No body spoke a word; no one knew what to say. It was a sad moment. Jenn had finally found the one person she had given up, someone she cared about. And only to find her insane in a dark room, Jennifer was lost in the darkness. Jennifer didn�t move at all, �You don�t see it, do you? Well, I don�t blame you, the monster is in the shadows. No, the monster �is� the shadows!�

          I felt pity for her, and for Jenn, who finally finds the person she�s looking for, only to see her like this. Jennifer was mumbling on and on about a monster that we�ve never seen yet, �Tom was eaten by that monster, so was Mark! And Melissa, as well! They were all swallowed by the darkness!! It all happened when the sun went down!�

           Hannah dug through bag the first aid bag she was carrying, until she found the thing she was looking for; a flashlight. She turned it on and lifted it above the people blocking her from the room. Although she got to the front with her flashlight, Chris grabbed it.
         
           Chris said, �Can I have the flashlight? I need to check something out.�

           Hannah jerked the flashlight back to her, �No, just show me what you want to see?�

           Chris looked annoyed, �How could you show me what I want to see, if I can�t see it!?�

           Chris jerked the flashlight towards him again, but Hannah had a good grip on it, �I need to see if there�s anyone else in this room!�

            Basically those two were having a tug-a-war with a flashlight. It was very, very immature of them. But both of them were as stubborn as the other, none were ready to give up. Well, until the flashlight slipped through their hands and on to the floor of the dark room.

            Than all of a sudden, the shadows seemed to have come to life. The sound of their movement was like broom rubbing against a carpet. And in moments the flashlight was swallowed up by the darkness. And the shadows settled down.

            Everyone was scared. No one dared to move. We were all frozen in fear. But in the silence, you hear weeping coming from inside the room, the weeping of Jennifer. She wasn�t moving, only crying.

            Mac was the first of us to move and say something, �Fuck that, I�m not going in there.� But than the shadows moved again, more violently than before. And all you could hear was some agonising scream of the monster as it shot out the flashlight in the corner of the dark room.

            After that little confrontation with the monster that Jennifer was trying to warn us about, our team stopped in the hall, wonder what to do about this problem.

            Brent and Addison were watching out for monster in the halls, while everyone else was resting against the wall of the end of the hall. Well, everyone except for Chris and Jenn. They were standing at the door, watching over Jennifer.

           Chris was question Jennifer about this monster, and he was writing everything in his notebook. And every now and than, he would drop an object into the room to see how the monster would react to the object; a pencil, paper, etc. And during this whole time, Jenn didn�t say a thing.

            She was quietly watching over her almost-sister with sadness in her eyes. It was painful for her to see Jennifer in this situation. And even more painful for her because she couldn�t do anything to help her.

            Mac and Connor were coming up with some odd ideas on how to destroy the monster. One of them was pointless, they wanted to shoot the shadows and hope to kill it. But that idea was scratched out thanks to Hannah saying that they might hurt Jennifer by doing that. Other ideas weren�t as bright either. In the end, they were getting out of hand. They were thinking about shooting bombs in there, in which Hannah badly scolded them for.

            Callie and me were asleep half the time. Although, we did have our little chat every now and than, �Rachel?� �Yeah?� I said half asleep.

            �Were going to die here aren�t we? I mean, look at this, we just encounter our second monster, and it looks gloomy. We probably won�t make livelong enough to see the next monster! � We�re all going to die out here!�

             I look at her, �You don�t have much confidence do you?�

             She looked down with disappointment, �I lost when I first enter this �Demon high school�.

             I touched the place where my necklace should have been, �Well, I haven�t. And I�m not going to let anyone get killed. No one.�

             Chris came in front of all of us, �Ok people! I have a plan!�

             Connor said with triumph, �So do we!� But than Hannah gave them the evil eye and Connor said, �Umm� second thought, maybe you should tell us your plan first, than ours.�

            Brent and Addison were listening while staying on guard. Jenn was still at the door looking into the room.

           Chris explains, �Ok, from what I know of the monster so far, is that the creature lies in the darkness.� Mac interrupted, �Well! I wonder what gave you that idea!?� Chris looked annoyed, but continued, �And that I found out that the only reason why Jennifer is still alive is because she hasn�t moved. From what she said, the other people in the room died due to their panic and moved around. By doing so, they have made themselves visible for the creature.�

          Callie looked confused, �Umm� English please?� I explained, �It�s basically a motion detector.� Callie said, �Ahhh� I see.�

          Chris continued, �So I did some tests on the monster, and some far, it eat everything that I shot at it, my pencil, paper, my necklace, everything!�

          I asked , �So why didn�t it eat the flashlight?�

          Chris said, �Good question, and from my guess. It�s probably afraid or weakened by the light. That�s why it spit out the flashlight, and that�s the reason why it came in that room after the power went out, and that�s the reason why it hasn�t killed us yet. Because we�re in the halls where the light is.�

          Hannah asked, �So what are we suppose to do to get Jenn out? We could have used the flashlight, but it�s in the room! No thanks to someone��

         Chris looked mad, �I wasn�t the one who did that! It�s your fault!�

          Mac covered Hannah�s mouth, �You talk way too much.�

          Chris looked satisfied, �So anyways! That�s all I have to tell you.� He looked embarrassed.

          Everyone was dumbfounded. Mac spoke, �That�s no plan!� But than Addison came up beside Chris, �But that did give us some ideas. Like that�s it�s afraid of the light, so lets us that against it. We could use the flash bomb and hope for it to eat it up. So when it explodes, it explodes in him That way, it�s dead. Since it afraid of light� and will� it�s bomb! Nothing can with stand a bomb inside of them!�

          So we went with that plan, Brent and Addison were still standing guard. Mac and Connor were standing beside the door ready to shoot at anything. And Chris held on to the flash bomb, ready to throw it. While everyone else was watching from the halls, I stood beside Rick. And I heard him mutter to himself, �Impressive idea��

          Chris told everyone, �Ok, cover your eyes encase the bomb explodes before it�s swallowed. Jennifer, I want you to cover your eyes. DO NOT MOVE no matter what! You got that?� I guess she must have, because he throw the bomb inside the room�
