Chapter 16

            �You let Hannah join! That�s what!� Callie explained. She was furious with Hannah joining and it�s all because their rivals�

              Yep. Hannah and Callie have always been rivals since kindergarten. Hannah is a straight A student in which Callie is not. But the one thing Callie is most proud and highly skilled in, Hannah does too; Sports.

               Callie is very athletic, in which she tried very hard to keep up with her family. But no matter how hard she tries, she�s always second best next to Hannah.

              I look at Callie, �I know that Hannah isn�t the person you get along with, but we need the help!�

               Callie eyes were on fire and she just exploded, �Need the HELP!? What kind of excuse is that!? Look if she joins, than I�m not.�

              I looked at Addison for some help here. But all he did was look in front of him, barely paying any attention to us. And knowing that Callie is going to be hard to cooperate with Hannah in the group� maybe it was best that she stayed. But than an idea just lit up.

              �Oh well� Than can you teach Hannah how to picklock, because I still need a pick locker. And being that you�re the only one who seems to know how� And besides, Hannah doesn�t even know how to picklock, and if you can teach her, than I would have to protect her all the time, seeing that she�s the MOST important person in the party.� I said sympathetically.

               �Protect her?! �She�s the most important person in the party because I�m going to teach her how to picklock!?� She said as the words sink in her head. I started to walk away�

               �Wait!!� Callie yelled. �Never mind, I�m coming. Which means that I�ll be the most important person in which you have to protect! We�ll let Hannah sacrifice herself to protect me�� She said as she daydreamed about Hannah ultimate death.

               I knew it would work, knowing that Callie only wants to out do her. But the idea about Hannah sacrifice wasn�t part of the plan, but it still worked! Callie is back in the group!


                 �Wow! You already have 6 people who joined!� Eric said as we continued to walk through the crowded Camp. He looked at me with confusion, �What are you doing? That�s not the way to Megan?� I looked at him with smile, �No silly, we have one more person I want to join before we go to Megan.�

                  Eric than looked really confused, �But you already have all the people for Megan to allow you to go out in the halls, why get another one?�

                 I brought up my fist, bring up a finger with every person I said, � Originally, I only planned for Jenn and Callie to come along. With Chris and Addison to come along after a bit of persuasion. The other person would have made five! But I wasn�t expecting Hannah or Brent to come, but that�s fine by me!�

                 �But who�s the other person?� Eric asked.

                 I stopped, and looked at the person I was talking about, �Rick.�


                 Rick was leaning on the wall, with two guards beside him; both of the guards were holding guns. The guard on my right was Connor, the boy on my bus, who�s height can even make Michael Jordan look normal� Making Mac, the guard on my left, look even smaller than my brother. For Mac was a farmer, meaning he�s built, but for some reason, he�s no bigger than me. Short compared to his classmates.
                
             Rick really stuck out, for his white shirt was still white, unlike Conner and Mac�s white t-shirts� And he�s blue jeans were still brand new, while both Conner and Mac�s jeans were ripped and dirty. Conner�s vest and Mac�s shirt made them look like they were terrorists or something. Mac brown hair was short, so it didn�t matter if it was dirty or not, you would still not notice. As for Connors� long, curly, blond hair was hidden under a cap.
             
            I watched in a distance, both Connor and Mac were talking to each other while Rick was looking down, looking like he was sleeping on the wall. �I know! And he hasn�t ate or moved since he arrived here!� Conner said looking at Mac worried. �Maybe he�s really is a monster!�

           I slowly approached them, while Mac was waving a hand in front of Rick�s closed eyes. �Hello? Anyone in there?� And without looking, Rick said, �Please stop that.�

           Mac quickly stopped, �My God! He actually said something!�

           As I approached them, Mac and Conner still didn�t notice me. But Rick opened his eyes as he looked at me. That got the attention of Mac and Connor, �Halt! Who goes there?�
Mac laughed a bit, �I�ve always wanted to say that!� Than he returned to serious, he looked at me, than to Connor he said, �Isn�t it that girl who came in from the halls with our� guest here?�
 
              Connor nodded, �Yeah, I think her name is�.� And as he was thinking, I said with annoyance, �Rachel.� Conner snapped his fingers, �That�s it!�

              Getting a little impatience with the two guys, �I�m here to talk to Rick.� Mac than leaned against the wall, �Go ahead, although, he never talked to anyone since he first came here.� But than Connor whispered to Mac, �But he just said something not too long ago�� Mac quickly replied, �Shut up!�
          
              Seeing the two fight was amusing, but a waste of my time, �um� Ok�.� Than I directed my attention to Rick, �Rick? I was wondering if you want to join the rescue team to go out and get some food for here? I mean they are running out of food, and at the same time we could look for some more survivors! So do you want to come?�

               I had to talk a deep breath, I said that all in one breathe�But Mac and Connor seems to just look at me with their mouths open in disbelief. Than they just burst out laughing! Mac said in a very amused tone, �HAHAHAHA! Who the hell do you think you are!? You think that you can survive out in the hall? with monsters out there? HAHA! And we hardly made it out of the last rescue mission! Who would be crazy enough to go back out there?!�

               With the two guys laughing their lungs out, Rick was still leaning against the wall, silent as ever. I was feeling so embarrassed, but I knew they were wrong, for already I have a crew of six. And right when I was going to leave, Rick said, � I�ll go.�

              With what Rick had said, I felt even better and both Mac and Connor had stopped laughing. I smiled, and thanked Rick. Mac than said, �Well, since we�re the only two remaining members of the last rescue team, we might as well go along, too!� And than Connor quickly said, �And there�s no way, we�d let you guys get all the fun!�

              I smiled at both of them, �I thank you! It�s great that you guys are coming!� With that, I leave them.


              I retuned to the science office to give Megan the great news, �I�ve collected well over 5 people to go on the mission!�

             With that one statement, Megan asked who they are. I counted them down as I mentioned their name, �There�s Callie, Addison, Hannah, Jenn, Brent, Mac, Connor�� and I had to think about the rest, Eric completed the list though, �Chris, Rick, me and her!�

             I quickly corrected him, �You mean Chris, Rick and me. You�re not coming.� I could see his disappointment, �What?! Of course I�m coming!� Megan came in, �I think it�s best if you stay here. All you would be to her is another one she would have to look out for. Stay here where it�s safe.� Chris wasn�t here, and a good thing, because I don�t think he would help much and add more complications to this little problem.

               �What?! I�m older now; I can take care of myself! Please let me come with you Rachel!� Eric begged. And without thinking, I replied, �No. You�ll stay here with Megan and wait till I return.�

              With that, Eric left. I was going to go and follow him, but Megan grabbed my arm, �Let him go. He needs time to think. I mean, you did just come back from the halls where he thought you were dead. And then you leave him again��

             She�s right, it�d be like I died a second time�
