Chapter 15

            �I knew it! I thought there had to be another reason to go back out in that hell. �Cause I know you�re not dumb enough to go out there to save everyone else ass!� She said as she nodded her head in understanding.

             �I would have done it anyways! Whether Kevin and Eric were right here beside, I would still go!� I tried to tell her. But she looked at me in annoyance, �No one is that heroic� Not even you. But what your doing now doesn�t even qualify as heroics, it�s called stupidity. No one is going to go along with you, everyone safe no. No one wants to put their lives a stake anymore.�

               Everyone was still whispering behind us, I could hear them. But I couldn�t care what they think; I have to get Jenn to join this party. Of everyone here in Camp, only Jenn, Callie, Rick and me are in the best shape to survive out there.

              �Look, I know what you want is to make sure that your brother is still alive and bring him back. But I heard about the stories of the last rescue team, of twelve members only two made it back! That�s not exactly good odds for us, and we hardly have anything to kill those demons out there!� Jenn continued, �You can�t do this to us. Everyone has given up hope on anyone that�s out there� no one could survive out there long.�

               She looked down and I saw a tear forming. I formed a fist with my hands, and my anger just increased because it was from her that I was given that speech. It was like she gave up already, and I know that�s not her. She would never give up without a fight�

               �Look. I came here to get you because I thought that you would want to join the team.� She looked at me with forced eyes, �And what gave you that idea?�

               I looked at her angry eyes, has she forgotten who she is? �Look, you have always helped out people. And since these people are soon to starve to death, it only seems right to help these people by going out in the halls and find some food, and at the same time finding more survivors and a way out of this nightmare!�

              She crossed her arms and looked away from me, �That was a long time ago��
�It was a long time ago, what about that time where you helped me with a history project, or the time where you were going to kick someone ass because they made fun of Jen�� I noticed something that I should have noticed before. Jen wasn�t here in Camp.

            �Don�t tell me you gave up on Jen already�� I said sadly. Jenn looked at me with sadden eyes,  �You and I both know that chances of her still being alive out there is very slim��

              I looked at Eric, �Everyone said the same about us, but at least Eric didn�t give up on us. And somehow we survived. Why can�t Jen?�

              There was a long silence between us. Our friends behind us all stood there watching us. No one dared to talk. Everyone wanted to hear Jenn reply�

               Jenn than looked at me with a weak smile and dried up tears on her face, �I know you�ll somehow go out in the halls looking for food and your brother. Traveling through every room to find him and the food. You�ll most likely come across Jen. And when you do, I want to be the who will bring her back her alive.�

              With that I smiled at her, �Thanks. This means a lot to me. And it means even more to Jen.� She let out a big smile and said, �Look here, I won�t die without a fight! So I don�t want to die without doing something that will harm the creature that will eat me in the end! Anyways, starving to death is too clich�, I mean, what about those in Africa?� We both laughed at the joke.

              She than walked back to her group and started a conversation again, without chatting about leaving them. She probably wants to spend her last few days happy with her friends before she sets out. She so caring�

 
              �Is Jen that important to Jenn?� Asked Eric as we were walking away. �Even though their not sisters, they act like it!� I replied with a smile. �Do you really think that what she said about being eaten in the end true or is it�� Eric was cut off due to someone yelling out my name. I turned around and saw an old classmate of mine running to me.

             Brent�s his name, a very athletic student. His blond hair was untended to, like much of the time he has it like that. And his jeans where tarred around his knees and his white t-shirt was all dirty.

             �Brent? What is it?� I said as I looked over him. I�d seen him dirty before, but this is ridiculous.  He looked at me than finally said something, he was probably looking for the right words, �Um� I heard from Jessa that you�re looking for people to go out in the halls to find some food and other survivors.�

             After he didn�t say anything for a couple of seconds, I had to break this silence, �And you want to join don�t you?� He bore a big smile and said, �Yeah, is that ok?� I smiled back, �the more the merrier! Of course you can!� He started to back away, �Thanks!� And left.

             �Wow! You seem to be getting a lot of people in a matter of seconds!� Eric said as we walked away. I smiled, �Ha. Leave up to Jessa big mouth to get the news across to people.�


             �Hello there!� I said to Callie as we entered the science lab. She was sitting on a desk as an older student was looking over her wound. The older student said something to Callie and than walked away. Addison walked by the older student and sat beside Callie while handing her a cup of water.

            �So, how are we doing today? Better, I hope.� I said as I sat across her. Eric just sat down beside me.  She touched her right shoulder and said, �Bruised like hell, look it�s all black!� She pushed her shirt down to show us her bruised shoulder, and she was right! It was all Black!

            �Ow. That has got to hurt!� I said as I winced in disgust. She laughed and said, �More than you think, but it�s not that bad. It only hurts if I move it up or touch it. So tell me, I keep asking people if I�m dead or if this is a dream, but they keep telling me that I�m alive and awake. Tell me they�re wrong.�

            I sigh, �Sorry to tell you this but it�s not a dream and you�re not dead.� She looked disappointed, �Didn�t think so, since I hurt all over. But � look at this place. It�s � it�s like everyone is a Zombie!�

             �I know what you�re talking about. But it�s all real.� I said as I looked around this place. It changed a lot from a science lab to a hospital. There were a lot of sick people, most of them were sick. And they just don�t see to be getting better, either. Eric was looking at the people here, but stuck awfully close to me. He was always afraid of Hospitals.

              Addison was still there listening to us, but not talking or even looking at us. You can tell there�s something on his mind.

            There was a long silence, for some reason, that happens a lot now. Although, it wasn�t exactly talking that broke it, no, it was Callie stomach. Callie than blushed while she grabbed her stomach, �Sorry, didn�t have much to eat.�

             My belly growled than, I blushed and smiled, �Me, neither!� She looked at me with disbelief, �Can you believe them to expect us to live off of one meal a day, my god! I can�t even last without breakfast when I come to school everyday!�

            Than I remembered the reason why I came here. My face went from a smile to a serious face, �Callie, you probably know by now that these people are going to starve to death. You saw how little you got, well. Eric here has been eating like that for over 5 months!�

            She looked sad, �I know. Addison here has been here for one month already, right?� She said as she looked at Addison. All he did was nod.
      
            �Well, are you just going to sit there and watch people die right in front of you?� I said as I spread my arms to show her everyone I�m talking about. �Or what? Go back out there and get killed? No way! I�d rather starve to death!� She said as she crossed her arms and looked away, she�s starting to look an awfully like Jenn�

            �Look, Jenn did the exact same thing with me and she joined.� I said, as I looked annoyed. She looked at me in shocked, �She what? And for what reason did she joined?� I looked at Addison, who was still thinking about something�

            �She wants to go out there and look for Jen,� I said. Callie looked at me, �Look I know your all noble and everything. You even know how to survive out there with all that Kung fu shit you know. But I can hardly stand after that encounter with horrible monster. How do you expect us �normal� people to last out there?! Eh?!� She demanded.

            �Look, I know your in bad shape and if it wasn�t because I needed your pick-locking skills I would have never came here and ask you to put your life at stake!� I took a deep breath and realised that I must have sounded mean there. And Callie was in shock. She just stood there.

           �I�m sorry, it�s just� Living in this place for a day has really� changed me.� I apologized. She gave me a weak smile, �I think it changed us all� And I�ll go in one condition.� I looked surprised at how fast she agreed, �What?� She looked at me with a smile, �You have to protect me at all cost! I�m only doing this because you need me� and maybe a little for the adventure. But I don�t want to die, ok!? So I want you to protect me at all cost!�

           �Umm� sure, of course I will!� I said, confused at how easy this was�

            Addison looked at Callie and said, �I knew you were going to do something like that. So I�ll go, too. I don�t exactly trust Rachel to protect you, since you did get hurt last time��  Callie looked at Addison, than smiled, �I�m sure I�ll be fine, but it �would� be safer to have you protecting me! He can come too, right?� I smiled, �Of course!�

            �Umm� can I also go?� I turned around and saw Hannah. Hannah is another classmate of mine, she�s also very athletic, and also a honoured student. Her Curly, highlighted brown hair was up in a ponytail. And overalls were dirty, although that could be from her farm�

            �What?� I asked, unsure of what she�s asking, because she would have been the last person I though would want to join. She looked at me, �Can I join too! I know I would be of great assistance. I�ll be the medic! It�s just that what you said was true, all these people are going to starve if we don�t do something about it!�

            I was taken totally by surprise, �Um� Umm�. Sure. As long as you want to go, I � I guess you can.� She smiled at me with pure happiness, �Oh good! I�ll go get ready than, come and see me when you�re ready to go!�

           I turned around and saw that Callie was very angry at me�
