Shocking steps to safety - By Nicole Bode
Women learn 'street' in self-defense class

"Get on the ground!" screamed Gary Moskowitz as he tried to strangle a women half his size. "I'm going to kill you!"

The slender woman went limp immediately started to kneel, then suddenly flipped Moskowitz over her shoulder and pinned him to the ground.
"Good', said Moskowitz, a sixth-degree black belt in Karate and self-defense teacher, as he lay on his back. "You see how simple that was?"
In his self-defense class - held at International Karate and Fitness Center in Forest Hills - Moskowitz doesn't hold  back when role--playing an attack on his students. Obscenities, sexual references and threats are standard fare, because as hte 11-year veteran of the NYPD puts it, "There are no rules on the street."
Studant admit they find the psychological boot camp shocking at first.
