Applied Martial Arts (AMA) offers the first national martial arts ranking based on practical self-defense and third party protection.  AMA has a list of over 2,000 attacks broken down into 20 ranking degrees.  The first ten ranks are from White Belt to Black Belt.  The following ten are through Tenth degree Black Belt.

Each rank requires the examiner to defend themselves and or others against approx. from 75-150 different attacks depending upon which rank examiner is testing for.

The attacks are against single, multiple, unarmed, armed, standing sitting, on the ground, in a car, in the water, and in a host of other environmental different conditions.

AMA will be listing these charts shortly.  Students can take tests for advanced standing.Students can use their existing knowledge to take these exams.  As long as the defense technique seems reasonable and practical then the student would pass that attack.

Note:  Unless a student is somewhat competent in the following skills it wouldn't seem likely that they would be able to pass the higher rankings.

Skills:  Common Sense, Movements, Barring, Blocking, Grappling, Throwing, Take-Downs, Joint-Locking, Striking (with fingers, hands, elbows, hip, feet, knees, head), Choking and Weapons..

We are also seeking new students to enter into our Sensei/Instructor programs.  For those with credible martial arts experiences and are able to demonstrate a proficiency against an array of attacks, then they can test for advance standing.  Additionally, instructor licensing with AMA means one must be also proficient in the art of teaching and pass a teaching qualification as well.
