Deep Space Nine

Deep Space Nine

Deep Space Nine was taken over in 2369 by a Starfleet team after it was abandoned by the cardassians. Before they left they sabotaged all of the primary systems and stripped the station of all advanced technology.

The Starfleet team had a huge job to make it operational again but after ten weeks under the command of then Commander Benjamin Sisko, Deep Space Nine is moved to the Denorious Belt from the planet Bajor after the discovery of the only stable wormhole in known existence.

In it's new position it was more of a strategic target and came under threat many times from enemies such as the Klingons. Between 2371 and 2372 the station was upgraded by Starfleet in response to the threat of the Jem'Hadar on the other side of the wormhole in the gamma quadrant. Several state-of-the-art phaser emitters, a full complement of over 3,000 photon torpedoes which can be launched from any number of launchers. Also, a high output and a very capable deflector shield were also fitted. A big plus for it's defensive armament is the U.S.S. Defiant

With aprroximately 300 permanent residents and 50 Starfleet personnel, Deep Space Nine is capable of holding a maximum of 7,000 beings in 19 different sections. These visitors can arrive in several different ways, on runabouts and shuttlecraft, starships or simple transport freighters. On a given day, anywhere between 10 and 300 visitors can arrive on the station.
