1 Livelihood

We follow Self Help Group and Joint Liability Group (for landless farmers and share-croppers) model and carry out capacity building before enabling them to set up rural/ urban enterprise based on their traditional skills, local resources and own aptitude. Further to this, we link them to different types of cooperatives including credit cooperatives for self sustenance.

2 Working to Attain the Millennium Development Goals

In its perspective planning policies, Amrat Foundation has adopted the 8 Millennium Development Goals, as set forth in September 2000 at a convention represented by 189 countries including India. The development policies of several governments across the developing world have mirrored a legitimate commitment to the framework of the MDG and India has been no exception. Accordingly, the Planning Commission of India has evolved the National Development Goals (NDG) as part of its 10th and 11th Five Year Plans targets. This essentially based on the following 8 MDG targets:

1. Eradication of poverty;
2. Achievement of Universal primary education;
3. Promotion of gender equality;
4. Reduction of child mortality;
5. Improvement of maternal health;
6. Combating HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases;
7. Ensuring environmental sustainability; and
8. Developing a global partnership for development

3 About Vocational Training

Vocational training prepares trainees for jobs that are based on manual or practical activities, traditionally non-academic, and totally related to a specific trade, occupation, or vocation. It is sometimes referred to as technical education as the trainee directly develops expertise in a particular group of techniques or technology.

4 Our Work

We plan to create Vocational Training centers wherein we provide service industry related Vocational Training such as security, data entry operator, tally, sales and marketing, electrical, welder etc. based on the local demand and local enterprise need. Certification shall be provided under govt. of India schemes that is MES (by NCVT)

5 About Microfinance

"Microfinance" is often defined as financial services for poor and low-income clients. In practice, the term is often used more narrowly to refer to loans and other services from providers that identify themselves as "microfinance institutions" (MFIs). More broadly, microfinance refers to a movement that envisions a world in which low-income households have permanent access to a range of high quality financial services to finance their income-producing activities, build assets, stabilize consumption, and protect against risks. These services are not limited to credit, but include savings, insurance, and money transfers.

Micro-Finance loans are small in amount as their target population do not have the means to borrow an amount of Rs 1,00,000. They go for smaller loans of upto Rs 10,000.

Our activities for formation and training the members of Self Help Groups included:

1. Providing need-based and skill-based vocational trainings;
2. Maintenance of proper records of savings of each member;
3. Developing financial linkages with respective financial institutions;
4. Proper market linkages for their respective products;
5. Packaging and pricing pattern of their products to meet the competitive market challenges;
6. Promoting savings amongst the members of Self-Help Groups.
