A game made by Blizzard, this real-time strategy game is the sequel to Starcraft, a series that has dominated early e-sports and is infamous around the world for it's popularity among Korean players.
Real-Time Strategy games involve two or more players controlling an army and a base. Players create units to gather resources to be used in the creation of more units, which can be buildings that benefit the player or different types of soldiers that have different strengths and weaknesses.
In Starcraft 2 players can choose from 3 different space-faring races, Terrans, which are the humans, Protoss, humanoid aliens, and the Zerg Swarm, monster aliens.
The player's goal in each match is to destroy the enemy base, to do so players create their army and monitor enemy progress in order to choose the next best move.
Starcraft II is a strategy game where players move their pieces in real time, collect resources and increase their power by creating more units. Having both a single player story mode and a multiplayer game mode it is a game one can enjoy by themselves or against others. As there are 3 different races with their own strengths, weaknesses and units there are various strategies to be learned when playing against other players. Players who use the multiplayer aspect of the game are paired up with players of similar skill levels. As players increase in skill they increase in rank from bronze to silver to gold and so on with only 200 players entering the Grandmaster League. Starcraft is one of the most intense games however as players must manage resources, units and the enemy.
