It's e-sports scene has grown at a rapid pace, going from 1.6 million viewers for their Season 1 World Championship in 2011 to 32 million viewers in 2013.

A game similar to DOTA 2, League of Legends is a MOBA(Massive Online Battle Arena), a team based game where 5 players each choose a champion to fight in the Summoner's Rift game mode where the goal is to destroy the opposing team's base.

To ensure their victory players must fight against the enemy units on the map, gaining gold upon killing the enemy unit that can be used to buy items that benefit the player and the team.

This is a video concerning one of League of Legends' most recent (as of May-11-2014) Champions, one of the characters players use. The video concerns Braum, a hero within LoL's fictional world which although not as polished as other games is still filled with interesting places and characters. Braum is designed for players who like to help their team, a role designated as Support within common MOBA terminology.

League of Legends is a free to play game with an in-game shop that allows players to buy new champions through points awarded after a match or point bought with money. For those who have time and dedication it is entirely possible to not pay a single cent for playing the game. There are various game modes from the most popular Summoner's Rift which consists of 5v5, to a 3v3 called the Twisted Treeline and the black sheep called Dominion, a 5v5 Capture-the-Flag kind of mode that although not as popular still has a dedicated playerbase.

All three modes play similarly. Players begin the match with a set amount of gold and advance towards their positions, usually heading to their outermost tower with the standard team set-up being a 1-1-1-2 in Summoner's Rift. This means that 1 player goes to the Top Lane, another stays in the jungle-the trees in between the lanes, another goes to Mid Lane and finally the last two go to Bottom Lane. From there players build up their inventory by gaining gold over time and through killing enemy units or champions and in the assistance of taking down said champions. After some time it becomes more advantageous to stick as a group and try to take down towers in order to reach the enemy base and destroy it. Of course that only applies to Summoner's Rift and Twisted Treeline but Dominion is different in that as long as one team holds more towers over the other team that team loses points and once one team reaches 0 points said team loses.

Riot Games is still a young company founded in X-XX-XXXX by "Ryze" and "Tryndamere" that is currently located in Santa Monica, California. League of Legends is the only game Riot Games has released but their passion and dedication to this single game has allowed them to create one of the biggest E-Sports scene in gaming history
