Receipts posted & target allocations are now published
Letters of confirmation of entries, together with receipts are being posted this weekend.  Please check your details are correct and, if not, let us know asap.  The target allocations are also included and for those who did not indicate which style of target face you required, at this stage, we have given you a single face.  Again if you wish to change to a vertical triple face, then let's know, sooner rather than later.

ALSO, don't forget the "social soiree", which will serve as an evening meal from 6:00pm on Saturday at the venue for just $10 (plus drinks).  For catering purposes, can you also please provide us with a RSVP by 22nd June?

Oh, and the target allocations.... are here.

Entries have now closed
It's just three weeks to the big evemt and entries were still coming in, even today.  However, target allocations are now being finalised and therefore, given the number of entries, we are at the stage of saying "no more".  Once allocations have been sorted out, they should be available and posted on this site within one week.  Letters of confirmation will be sent to all entrants at the same time.

Raffle in Full Swing
Don't forget there's a raffle for a HoytUSA bow of your choice to the value of $1,760 provided by sponsors ARCHERY ACADEMY, which will be drawn on the Saturday night during the Social Event at the venue.

For a paltry $3 you have a chance to win a quality bow.... if you win and you don't want the bow you can take away $500 instead.

And while talking about the Social Event on Saturday, it's from 6:30pm, after the last flight of the day.  Come along to a get together with food for just $10 plus drinks, in an area adjoining the venue.  No need to rush away and no need to go looking for that elusive (non-existent) nearby restaurant.  You'll be able to enjoy great SA wine and beer and meet up with old friends or make some new ones.

Entries Up Despite Hiccough
Organisers are pleased to announce that, at the close of entries, more than 105 archers will be competing in Adelaide.  This is an increase from 2002 when 92 participated.  Approximately 50% of entries are from outside South Australia.  And all this despite the entry form not making it into "The Australian Archer" (maybe next year!).

Competitors are advised that, as soon as allocations have been finalised, the receipts and confirmation of entries will be mailed out for checking.

Copies of Entry Form Being Sent to RGBs
While the best laid plan was to see the entry form into every archery household across the country via "The Australian Archer", this is not to be.  Therefore, in addition to the Web-based entry form, hard copy versions are being distributed this week to RGBs to get them out to Clubs asap.  The closing date for entries has also been extended by 1 week in recognition of the difficulties experienced.

FITA Says " Choose Your Face Type"
FITA has done a backflip on the requirement of the Rules which stipulated just the one style of target face (see "FITA Award Event - what effect this has" below 07/12/2002).

The Organising Committee is now pleased to advise that you may elect to shoot either the single 60cm face or the vertical triple face.  It will be necessary however, for you to indicate the face type with your entry, to assist us in ensuring your needs are met.  Note: the HTML version of the entry form now contains a field for selecting the target face type, but the PDF version does not and you will need to indicate (manually) which type you prefer.  The entry form which is due for publication in the next edition of "The Australian Archer" will also not have the field indicated.

Social Event Organised
A Social Event has been arranged for the Saturday evening to commence soon after the completion of the day's shooting.  It will be in the area adjacent the cafeteria.  It has been arranged to provide a forum for socialising/catching up and will include finger food for $10.  Beats going home and then thinking about finding food!

Souvenir Glasses
Souvenir Adelaide Indoor Nationals glasses, in two styles, will be available during the Championships for $4 each.  Pre-orders are welcome but do not form part of the entry form.  The glasses will be generic and will have the Adelaide Nationals logo in black printed on them, without the year stated.

FITA Award Event - what effect this has
Application has been made for this event to be a FITA Award Event.  However, this has some impact about the style of the target faces used.

The FITA Rules state:
"8.1.1.4 Rounds and Faces
For the Indoor Match Round... mandatory for World Championships. The use of single or triple faces in all other competitions is the choice of the organisers provided that all competitors in the same class and division shoot on the same type of face."

Thus the Organising Committee has determined that all archers will shoot at single faces.

Committee formed
A meeting of interested persons was held and the new Committee constituted.  The Committee comprises essentially the same people as last year's highly successful event.  Committe Chairman, Tom Jorgensen said, "With the wealth of experience gained from the previous events held in Adelaide and an active core group to organise it, we look forward to an even better tournament in 2003." He added, "That despite some anticipated increases in expenses for the next event, the Committee has resolved to increase the entry fee by only $1, to assist archers."
