...make me...

Wow, it's not even midnight yet and I'm ready to update!

Well, that's probably because I didn't do much today, and I'm ready for bed. Today I spent the majority of my time playing Links 2004. This game blows me away at how fun it's been. It's certainly got me hyped for real golf! Now that my uncle's deck seems to be finished for the time being, people will be able to go to driving ranges and possibly golf courses with me! (Because I don't see myself lugging golf clubs on the bus.) So sadly I have to return the game in the AM but I will certainly plan on buying this one as soon as I see it on the second hand shelfs at EB. Hopefully it will be before the end of the month, because there's a 20% discount to people with EB cards on second hand games this month only. Mmm, savings on top of the evil gov't taxes! Paying lower than the sticker price is always a good, warm, gooey feeling.

Well, with work starting on Tuesday, my long weekend has been extra long! Infact I haven't worked in what seems like 3 weeks! Quite the vacation, and I wish it wasn't going to end. Still haven't bugged HRDC about EI yet, which I really should've done by now... But I'll call them soon, possibly when I finish work next week.

I hope the weather holds out this weekend, because I want to enjoy some binge drinking sometime soon, and hopefully it will be outside in the mild to warm weather! Go away rain!

Hey all, it's me back from another fresh and exciting day.

Today I was the good resident pack mule and did some more manual labour. This again reminds me why I don't want a job doing such things. Who in their right mind would want to do manual labour for work, and then have to do it at home? Seriously messed up. And yes, that means that I think carpenters should hire carpenters to do their carpentry. I know if that if I were a carpenter, I'd want my work done right, so I'd let someone else do it! (with close supervision from a lawn chair no doubt.) Ok, so my day wasn't exactly difficult. I mowed our miniscule backyard, and I helped my grandfather carry 3 16 foot boards from the lumber yard to my uncle house. Hardly the exhaustive work one would accomplish in an 8 hour day, but it got my lazy ass moving today.

The afternoon was a tad more relaxing. I finally got to speak (well, by speak I mean online chat...) with a former co-worker's twin who's now living here in town. If she lives up to this "twin" claim my friend keeps claiming, then I'm sure we will become friends. She seemed quite pleasant to "chat" to, so I can only hope she's a normal person. Yay for meeting new people.

Also this afternoon, I ordered my new PC. I will be able to pick it up Wednesday afternoon if all goes according to schedule. I am really anxious to get my new PC as I am sharing this one with 3 other people. It's not so much the time-share of the thing as I am probably the only major user, it's just that it feels wrong to kick somebody off a computer because I want to use it. So shame on me I guess. I also purchased a piece of hardware for my uncle, who's probably reading this and wondering when the hell I'm going to go over and install it so he can play with it, and to him, I say be patient. Hell, I'll do it tomorrow if you ask. :P

My evening was even more enjoyable because I played a little video game golf, and it was exciting. I rented this game last night but hadn't the chance to really play it. I enjoyed it so much and now I can understand why the game never stays long on the second-hand shelves. There aren't very many games I will pay full price for, and sadly this one isn't worth it. Sure, I'll probably buy it sooner or later, but it's no Halo or Conker.

And to top off my evening, I went to the movies with "the nurse". She picked me up since I'm the loser with no car, and we went and saw Troy. Not a bad movie, but it looses points for being so damn long. Two and 3/4 hours? Ok, people trim these movies down! I just watched Last Samurai, I don't need another epic war movie this close together. I really think they should've played down the fight scenes, but all in all the movie wasn't bad. The cast was good, and it may have taken me most of the movie to figure out, but Amegememnon (?) was played by the guy who was the head of the highway cops in Supertroopers. That was a noodle scratcher the whole movie.

Well, now I'm home, and it's almost a full hour into Friday, so I best be off to sleep. Enjoy your long weekend, because I will enjoy mine (if it doesn't rain too much.)

Mid-week update.

Looks like I have a job next week. It's back where I was working a few weeks ago before my little vacation out east. They want me to work for a week, and since I have no job, how could I turn it down? It'll be nice to see all the people I worked with before. I kind of missed them after working there for only nine weeks. Yeah, I say "only nine weeks" but that's no short amount of time really. It's just short of a fifth of a year! Well, now that it's going to be ten weeks, which just makes it even more. So hurray for me! I guess they like me. Maybe some day they'll hire me on as permanent staff? I'll keep my fingers crossed, and you can do the praying if that's your bag.

As a little way of kicking back after a hard day, I decided to rent The Last Samurai. This was a decent movie. I had heard good things, but had shied away from it previously because the last Tom Cruise movie I saw was Minority Report. Needless to say I wasn’t rushing out to see any Tom Cruise movies after that one. But I wanted to rent a movie, and I had a toss up between Gothika and this one. I picked this movie because “the nurse” has seen it and she said there was a fair amount of blood in it. I like movies with blood in it, so I’ll just have to watch Gothika another time. “The nurse” has probably already seen that one too, so I’ll have to get around to watching it on my own time.

So I guess you might be wondering what was so hard about my day. Well, today I helped put together bails at a church for the northern territories. I spent the better part of my day in a church, and I didn’t spew bile on anything! Of course, it’s kind of hard to say you don’t believe in god when little old church ladies are giving you sweet pastries, so I just smiled and nodded. Also while we were doing the bails, there was a day care facility right beside the room we were assembling the boxes. Those kids were fairly noisy and didn’t want to be confined while we worked. I suppose that would be a reason why the day care staff was a little snippy with me when I walked through their room to gain access to the elevator for more boxes. Oh well. They can be rude all they want in church, shame on them.

My afternoon was supposed to involve drilling boards down on a deck, but I managed to escape that fate by looking after my dear little cousin. I had to take him to the park, and we were accompanied by the neighbour kid. I don’t know about that kid. He’s sort of a bad influence on my cousin, but as long as there’s an adult around (like me!) then there’s no real problem. But that seems to be the end of my day. Here I am, writing again. Not much else is going on.

Hopefully I’ll have a full time job some time soon.

As another day winds down, I find myself thinking I should've blogged last night!

Sunday was a bit of a bland day just like any other day of my unemployment. I met my grandmother at the train station. It's very nice to have her home again. This way I probably won't have to watch over my little cousin much anymore! Well, apparently there has been a deal struck with the devil, and my uncle and I (and a co-worker of his) went out for yet another movie and the penalty for this excursion fell to me. I have to watch my cousin while my uncle and aunt go see a movie at a date to be determined. How unfair. :D It's the price I pay for hanging out with my uncle I guess. So anyway, the movie we all went to see was Van Helsing. It was actually a good movie considering I wasn't expecting much. Sure the plot was very thinly veiled, but I can forgive it for the baby gut rain. Thumbs up.

Monday was every bit as bland as Sunday, if not worse by the simple fact that not as much actually happened. Basically I got up, ate, did a little skating, and watched a movie. Now here I am. Sure, I applied for a few more jobs today, and I hope to hear about something soon, but for now, I have nothing to do. Need job. Grr! Oh, and the neighbour kid shot me with a water gun, so I had to get a little revenge. I shot him good in the back, sure it's not fair and all that, but it felt good!

So, if you're bored like me, check out http://www.illwillpress.com/vault.html for some entertainment. And until then, eat lots of kidney beans.
