6:00am: Everyone's arriving & begins to get ready.
6:15am:
Pepe helps guard my gear.
6:30am: Sara, Sandra and Marc
ready!
6:30am: On the way to the
lake.
6:30am: I'm number 383.
6:50: almost 2000 people wait
in the water to begin
in a 'mass swim' start all at once.
7:37 am: I've completed the
first 1.2 mile lap (took about 37 minutes),
and I'm just beginning the second.
8:15am: I've completed the swim (in about 1:15) and am running
to the transition area!
8:25am: I'm almost dressed for the bike leg, and stop for
a quick picture. Now for the 112 mile bike ride...
~Mile 5: Neil Frasier.
~Mile 30(?): Sandra Forrest (Fuzzy).
3:15pm / Run Mile
1: Just off the bike (which took just under 7 hours).
I'm walking for a few minutes to warm up.
Mile 1: Now I'm going! You can still
see
the gobs of sunblock on my face.
Mile
14: Still plugging. Not feeling too well, so I'm
mixing running and walking.

I'd actually gained 5 lbs of water during the race
(not good for
your electrolytic balance...)
