Decision Time

After all of the research and the job shadow I still have decided that  I want to be a lawyer.  I have always wanted to be a lawyer and I still do.  I have decided to make law my career. The reason for that is because I like to argue and I like law.  Just the whole idea of being in a career that involves law is what I want to do.  For example, I would also consider law enforcement an option for me later on in life.  Maybe if at one point I cannot continue to be a lawyer then I would change my career into something involving law.

What I want to do first is get an intership at a law firm this summer.  Then I will go to a city college in San Francisco.  After two years of that I want to get into a four year college to finish up the rest of the two years.  I would like to go to either UC Berkeley, or San Francisco State.  After the four years of general college, I want to go to a law school, maybe at UC San Francisco, for three years.  Then I would like to go into the work force.  After working for a few years I want to go back and get my Ph.D. in law.  If at one point I do not want to stay as a lawyer I would like to be a judge which, is almost in the same career path.

Job shadowing Kristin has really made me seen that becoming a lawyer is what I want to do.  I know that the road leading up to that dream will be hard.  There always is a lot of work and dedication involved.  However, I am willing to put that much effort.  In order to make my dream come true.  Another thing that I learned is that being patience will also get so somewhere.

For example, Kristin said that when tough times come a person need to be patience.  That person need to be able to endure a lot of things before anything gets done.  Those kind of situations are common in a lawyer environment.  However, that person must also be aggressive so that their point can be heard loud and clear.  Doing this job shadow has taught me a lot about what I want to do.  Not only that but it has also taught me life skills.

When it comes down to it I want to thank Kristin.  She has made me realized that what I want to do in life, is exactly what I want to do.  In a way she has opened my eyes to reality and what I want to do.  I knew being a lawyer was hard but I did not know it was that hard.
