Welcome to my community. San Jose, California better known as Silicon Valley. This is the home of the silicon wafer manufacturing processing. You might known them as computer chips for cpu's and memory = RAM. All this technology by which you are able to read this web page. This valley is the leader of telecommunications technology. I live only 6 miles from Intel, 20 miles from IBM and in a radius of 25 miles from my door to most of the familiar semiconductor companies you are most likely to have heard or read something about these companies:
AMD

AppleImac and Macintosh computers
IBM - super computers and business solutions
Silicon Graphics
SGI produces workstations and graphics servers that deliver advanced 3D graphics and computing capabilities for engineering and creative professionals also makers of flat panel screens
and animation for films i.e.

Sony
many companies in the SEL division- information management. In San Jose- manufacture semiconductors
Sun Microsystems - JAVA and workstations![]()
This area is saturated with cpu's everywhere, surprisingly we are not the most wired community, but are second to Washington State and Mr. Bill;)
Even a shopping trip to the local stores you hear "geek speak" as if it were a real language. Now I officially refer to myself as "Geekette". Just 10 years ago you wouldn't have caught me and a computer keyboard in the same room. But now I live and die by the internet- WWW- bits and bytes. I use the "web" as if it were my yellow pages and telephone directory and mapping service.
I really got hooked when just a year ago I got started with a generic web page and then wanted to know how to actually design a web page. I took some internet classes and the rest is history. I have since spent gazillions of hours designing web pages and images for myself and for friends. Now I enjoy using many graphics applications to design my graphics. An example of my creativity iare all the images on this page.
Next, I wish to master animated gif's. Everyday there is something new to learn and this technology changes so fast- almost on a daily basis it seems. I enjoy learning and I do learn a new trick or too everyday which is why I keep coming back.
I hope you enjoy my work and will take some time out to learn about my city from the links I have included here. Thanks for stopping by and have a super silicon day;)
