C-100 Replacement 455khz center frequency IF filters. These filters are a perfect fit into any scanner. If you are trying to monitor any type of over-the-air data such as pagers, cellular data, CDPD, etc... you need a wider filter in order to let your scanner "hear" the data in its entirety. C-100 is for scanners using a 455 Khz center frequency. C-101 450KHZ filters. This is the same as above, but with a 450Khz center frequency. Many scanners do not use the 455Khz center frequency and will not function with the wrong filter installed. C-102 I.F. Filter installation. If you do not feel too confident with opening up your scanner or using a soldering iron, you might want to consider having our technician install your new IF filter. Total cost including insured return shipment to you. See below for package deals. $40.00

C-103 Discriminator tap installation. When you are using your scanner to receive data for demodulation by a computer, you need to provide the purest signal possible to the computer. If you use the earphone, external speaker, or tape recorder jack, you are not getting the whole range of audio frequencies. The scanner filters and shapes the audio to make it more suitable for listening through a speaker. This is good for your ears, but not good for receiving data. To get the best data, it is imperative to tap off the discriminator chip. This is the chip inside the radio that actually demodulates the data. The output of this chip is where you can get the purest, cleanest data, and therefore this is where your computer should be getting its data from. Our electrical engineer will install a tap on your discriminator chip, with shielded coaxial cable, and your choice of output connectors (1/4" phono jack is recommended for simple connection to sound cards), and static electrical discharge protection. Without this special addition, static electricity from your body can enter the scanner and blow out the discriminator chip, rendering your scanner useless.

C-MOD Our trained electrical technician can perform any modification for you safely and competently. Other firms charge double our fee. from $20.00 plus return shipping. We can do: CB peak.tune mods, heavy hitter/swinger mods, MARS/CAP or other ham radio out of band mods (2m, 440, etc..), HF righs (unlock 100-30mhz transmit when avaialble, etc..)
We modify ham radios and Citizen's Band radios. HF rigs can often be opened up to transmit on 100khz-30 mhz (includes CB) and VHF and UHF rigs can often be modified to transmit out of band and on MARS/CAP frequencies. Most mods will be $20.00 as with scanners, and CB peak and tune jobs will be $20.00 also, but some rigs require more complicated procedures. Please email for a quote.
