Fuzzy Equalization of Digital Communication Channel using TMS-C30

Abstract
The speed of transmission of information over a communication system is limited due to the effect of intersymbol interference (ISI) and also due to co-channel interference (CCI). The process of removing the interference in the presence of noise is termed as equalization. In this paper we investigate the application of radial basis function (RBF) and fuzzy basis function (FBF) to channel equalization. We have implemented equalizer based on RBF and FBF on the TMS-C30 chip. The FBF equalizer has the advantage of being computationally inexpensive, and due to the use of fuzzy rules it gives better results which are stated in here.
