Conclusion

The Equalization of the digital channel was done with the help of nonlinear equalizers, which included RBF equalizer and the equalizers based on fuzzy functions or the FBF equalizers. In case of just intersymbol interference (ISI) the FBF equalizers are either superior or compared to RBF equalizers, which in turn is better then ordinary linear equalizers. Also for the case when co-channel interference is present, then FBF equalizers give results comparable to RBF equalizers, and not much of improvement, but they are still better then the ordinary linear equalizers. These were implemented on the TMS-C30 chip and it was found that the FBF equalizers were faster compared to the RBF equalizers for the reasons already stated. Since the real world signals are complex in nature, the above results can be extended for complex signals, since it gives better results and has computational advantages.
