WEST CARIBBEAN CRUISE
on the CARNIVAL VALOR
Day 2 January 23/06
Today is "Fun" Day at Sea. We started with a buffet breakfast at Rosies. We had a couple of presentations to go through this morning. At 9:30 a.m. they had the "In Port Shopping Presentation" (for Grand Cayman & Roatan), then at 11:00 a.m. there was the "Travel and Adventure" talk (about Belize & Costa Maya). Both of these were held in the Ivanhoe Theatre. That was basically our morning. Then it was lunchtime.
We wondered around some more after lunch, had another specialty drink (this one was called "Yellow Bird". :o)
Got ready for dinner in the Lincoln dining room, which is one of the main dining rooms on the ship. The other one was called the Washington, but we were assigned to the Lincoln.
Choices in the main dining room are limited, and fancy. Gary was not too impressed LOL. Unfortunately, I did not keep notes on this trip, so this is from memory over a year later, so I don't recall what we ate. Gary's meals in the main dining room were always beef related (might have had a steak this first time), and I *think* I might have had some sort of a duck dish. I recall that I wasn't all that greatly impressed either though. The main dining room is very upscale, but half way through dinner, all the staff (waiters, waitresses, maitre des) put on a show. They sing, and they dance, and they wear costumes, and it was a lot of fun.
We did some more exploring of the ship. It was a BIG ship! Chances are pretty good that I may have done some shopping this day too. :o)
We ended the night with a midnight show - "Midnight Adult Comedy with Mike Macy". Gary seemed to enjoy it - I didn't find him very funny at all though.
