Methods of Dream Interpretation

I thought that I didn't dream much, but I've learned that when I'm asleep, I'm dreaming all the time. I have to learn how to think about my dreams and analyze them right away (within a day or two of the dream). I thought it would be fascinating to learn how to analyze my dreams, so I looked to Sigmund Freud's method of interpretation as well as the gestalt approach. Because dreaming is a substitute process that has hidden meanings, we can learn how to discover ways to unlock these hidden meanings by learning how to interpret them.

My research includes information from the book New Introductory Lectures on Psychoanalysis by Sigmund Freud, translated from the German language and edited by James Strachey; it also includes information from the World Wide Web (WWW). I used two search engines: Yahoo! and HotBot. I came up with some good information, so I'll link you to some sites that have more information than I could ever provide. You'll be able to learn more about why you dream, and how you can interpret your dreams. You can also link to my group partners Holly Ewing and Carolynn Helton for more information on dreams.

Thank you for stopping by. If you wish to contact me, you may email me at [email protected].
