Interpreting My Dream

I have to preface this interpretation with a few disclaimers. First of all, I have not studied Freud's psychoanalysis and method of interpretation or anybody else's for that matter, thoroughly, so this is just off the cuff.

Also, I have fallen out of line with Freud's important list of things to remember in a dream analysis, the following has (or hasn't) occurred:

* My dream is eight years old, so this interpretation is not within a day or two of the dream.
* Being the interpreter of the dream, I am in no way an expert in psychoanalysis and have not studied Freud's theories completely.

With all that said, I still must say that this dream seems as vivid and real to me today as when I had it eight years ago. I had spoken to my parents and sister about the Lord a few different times to see if they realized who He was, and to let them know that they could have a personal relationship with Him. My parents had both been courteous and said that they went to church every Sunday. When I pressed them further, they said that they knew the Lord.

When I asked my sister if she knew the Lord, she wasn't sure what to believe. She said that she didn't even know where the Bible came from, so how could she believe in the Lord. So, in her heart, she had a lot of unanswered questions.

I believe that the dream represented both my parents' personal choice about their belief in the Lord, and my sister's sincerity in not knowing what to believe. I feel that my parents had already chosen their own destiny, but my sister was allowed more time to get some of her questions answered. End
