Because it is a chapter of the much larger organization Key Club International, which is in turn a portion of Kiwanis International, the primary goal of the Plano East Key Club is to fulfill the purpose of the parent association. Kiwanis and Key Club International's goals focus on helping others throughout the world to live better lives. Because of that, many Key Club activities center around fund-raisers for gifts to needy organizations or community service activities that are designed to help those around us. There is nothing more satisfying than to know you helped one other person who might otherwise have lived a worse life. Key Club is devoted to that kind of satisfaction.

The Plano East Club, in particular, focuses on these central ideas, but also on raising awareness of the need for activities like those that Kiwanis supports. Although many people in Plano live affluent or at least adequate lives, there are those, such as abused children, who need a lot more help than most people think they do. Although our club is less strict than some other clubs and service organizations as far as meeting attendence and quanitity of service, the Plano East Key Club is devoted to increasing this community's commitment to helping others who are less fortunate.

Key Club is and always will be something of a social gathering place where many people, no matter what their academic standing or schedule is like, can group up and work together to better our world.
