Outside activities provide inspiration on ways to
maintain students' interest and apply my lessons to real world
applications. They also keep me sane! Here's a sample of
some of the things I like to do when I'm not in the classroom.
My
undergraduate degree was in musical theatre. After I
graduated, I worked for almost ten years as a professional actor
based in New York City. I continually call upon skills
that I developed in my stage career when I am in the classroom.
This picture is from a production of 42nd Street.
My
travels have taken me to three different continents, as well as
all over the United States. I spent a year working on tour
in England and a year teaching English as a second language in
South Korea.
I
love hiking. This picture was taken in Yosemite National
Park. It was one of the stops my younger brother and I
made on our drive across America.
I
also love camping. These are pictures from last summer,
when I volunteered as a counselor at a camp for disadvantaged
children in Vermont. Those are my tent-mates, Kevin and
Josh, and my polar bear swim buddy, Linwood.
I
am a devoted uncle! Meet my niece (and goddaughter) Elena,
and my nephew, Nicholas.
During
my travels abroad, I sent home several journals relating the
fantastic (and often bizarre) experiences I had. I
developed quite a fan base! Someday I hope to compile my
stories and recollections into a book. Please click below
