Well, a lot has happened since I created this web page, so I think it's time for an update.

I did say I wasn't spendin' any more friggin' money but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Baby needed a new windshield and radiator in 2000. The following year I finally got around to installing power steering. It was something I talked about doing for many years. What a difference! I also installed new valve seals, 1 lower ball joint, new pinion bearings and a new tailpipe. Believe me, special tools are essential for these tasks. Thanks for the loan, Brian.

2001 was also the year I joined the Coastal Cruisers car club here in Bridgewater. We host an annual show and shine on Father's Day and get together for weekly cruises in the Summer. As well, we travel to other shows as a group and have some other special events. Here is the club web site.
Dsc00315.jpg (61826 bytes) The cool thing about this picture is that is was taken by a fellow Mopar fan I met last year in Debert NS. He took the picture to send to  Aspen owner Gary Foster from Australia who helped him track down some cool mopars from down under. By the way that's me behind the car. I'm applying sunscreen to Aaron - not beating on him.
aspen.JPG (56240 bytes) No, I don't have this picture reversed! This is  Gary Foster's right hand drive Aspen. He stumbled on my web site and told me about his Nova Scotia connection to the photographer in the above picture. He spent some time in Halifax in July 2001 and drove to Bridgewater for a visit while he was in the area. Small world, thanks to the web.
asp4.jpg (32706 bytes) Here's another shot of Gary's Aspen. It's a 360 powered car that was brought over from the US and converted to RHD. Aspens weren't produced in Australia, so that makes this a rare and unusual car down there. He's only ever seen one other - a wagon. Check out Gary's cool '71 Valiant!
moparshow.jpg (82974 bytes) This is an all Mopar event at Dartmouth in June 2001. Six of these cars along the back row are owned by the same guy. Sandy Colter's collection includes two Aussie Mopars - the "Ute" seen here and a Hemi 6 cylinder Charger. He's the guy who contacted Gary Foster to check them out before he brought them home.  I believe that's him on the right.
57dodge.jpg (67494 bytes) I may have caught the Mopar bug form a car just like this one I found at the 2001 Debert show. It's a 57 Dodge just like my Grandfather had. I was fascinated by some bare wires under the dash that would spark when kicked them. Of course I was having too much fun to stop when I was told and the car filled with smoke as all the wires fused together. He parked the car for good after that little incident, but I used to play in it for hours.
mercaneer.jpg (64306 bytes) This was taken at the 2000 Halifax  show. The vehicle parked next to us is the "Merc-A-Neer". It was an awesome Florida custom Merc, with 94 Ford 4x4 running gear and dash, along with suicide rear doors and  AMC wagon roof and tailgate. It attracted a lot of attention. I found a picture of it in one of those truck magazines not long after.
boys.jpg (65684 bytes) Here are two of my boys at Graves island last year. That's Aaron's  1976 Tonka Camper he and I restored last year. Aaron never misses a show with me. Kyle comes with us on occasion. They are both laughing hysterically here because some fat guy looking at the car beside us has just let out a huge fart. Come on, buddy, hold it in, will ya? Must have been a Ford Owner.
