BMW, an acronym for Bavarian
Motor Works, was founded in 1916, and started off building aircraft.
The first BMW automobile rolled off the assembly line in 1928, and the
rest is history. BMW began selling cars in the US in 1975, and currently
has 18 cars and 12 motorcycles for sale here, ranging in prices from the
$20,000's to the $90,000's. They offer the 3-series, the 5-series,
the 7-series, the sport coupe M3, and the lovable, sporty, Z3.
This,
of course, is the Z3, introduced in the 1996 James Bond movie, GoldenEye.
It quickly became BMW's best-selling car, and fastest-selling car, although
is said to not hold a candle to the similarly priced Porsche Boxster, and
Mercedes-Benz SLK.
