![]() We come to an interesting track, Track13, "Give it all up" which shows a real change for the Corrs, even moreso than "Breathless". It has alot of electronic elements, spiral sounds that fade in and out, the beat is uptempo and the tune is definitely a catchy piece. Again, this is not the Corrs of the past few years, but one of those songs that you just can't get out of your head. A more "electronica" piece of work with an 80's style feel, no doubt this will be a popular one for the kiddies. Perhaps another weaker track in the Corrs repertoire is this track 14, called "Hurt before" another example where style beats substance. A relatively plain melody that is kept at repeat mode with Andrea belting out as much feeling as she can, the song does gather speed and emotion towards the climax at the end, and Sharon's violin interlude definitely ends the piece on a higher note from where it started. The first and only instrumental track is great. Track 15, "Rebel Heart" performed by Sharon reminds us of the old Corrs. A very nice melody and the backing instruments (including Andrea's tin whistle) that made them famous are here. Mixing contemporary music with traditional, it also incorporates a very faint vocal "ooh-ing" towards the end, reminiscent of their first instrumental tracks (ala Erin Shore) in "FNF". This is the final track on some releases of the album, and having this as the last track, does leave a good sense of feeling. On the Australian version of the album, we have a bonus track "Judy" also found on the "Breathless" single as the final track. A very slow piece that has a neat simple tune. Not a very catchy song, but the general feel of the song has a nice atmosphere. There are no offensive tracks here, its all unadulterated fun. Different from the old Corrs, but nevertheless, a decent listen anyway. Get a copy and listen to it, don't take my word for it ! Rating: 7/10 |
