a. Holding conferences on the "Civil Society and the Dialogue of Civilizations represented by the agents of the Islamic regime and in the absence of non-governmental and opposition representatives.
b. Choosing the Islamic Regime as the host of the pre-conference of "Fighting Against Discrimination in Tehran with the participation of Mary Robinson. There was no mention of the behavior of a regime that is notorious in the world for its blatant religious and gender discrimination.
c. Cooperation with a seminary (Madraseh) in the city of Qom in Iran by the name of Sheikh Mofid that is run by the government and provides religious and military training to clerical personnel. The UN will participate in such a seminary on the Human Rights in May 2003.
Should the Human Rights Organizations fall in the demagogical trap of the murderers and criminals in Iran, the defense of the prisoners of conscience and their unconditional release will be in grave jeopardy. We expect that all individuals and agencies who are devoted to defending the Human Rights to concentrate on the facts of the Iranian Society, and its political structure and dont allow that the hypocrisy and conspiracy of the ruling circle to jeopardize the struggle of Iranians for democracy.
The U.N. should pay more attention to the fact that the IRI is a terrorist regime and cooperation with a government that is notorious regarding the violations of the Human Rights is against the very charter of this international organization.
This recognition hopefully will lead to ending the appeasing policy of the UN towards IRI and refraining from participating in its shameful events such as the one in the city of Qom in Iran.
