Hope in Jesus 2000a ministry for the glory of the Kingdom of God
Paul of Taursus wrote almost 2000 years ago that, "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". But Paul wasn't talking about us "disappointing" God by our sin. In fact the prophet Isaiah said that our sin "separates" us from God. Our sin isn't "disappointing" to God, it is heartbreaking. God loves each and everyone of us more than we can even comprehend.

You see, our sin is a "dividing wall" between us and God. It is a barrier that we can't break through, and God won't break through it because He loves us. To understand sin you must understand what the word sin means. If you ask most people to describe sin, they will begin to spout off a list-- don't steal, don't murder, don't lie, don't cheat, don't commit adultery-- but sin is something far more complicated than that. Yet, at the same time, it's much simpler that that too. Sin is our disobedience to God. It is literally when we decide we know better than He does, and we TURN away from Him. Because He loves us, He won't force us back. He lovingly calls to us to return, but He won't make you return.
Many people fill churches every Sunday looking for God. They sing and hear others sing. They hear the minister tell stories from the Bible. But many never hear God. He can whisper like the breath of an infant, or scream like the waves of a hurricane, but they never hear Him calling. They know the sound of the organ is not His voice. They know the sound of the choir is not His voice, but they can't hear Him. The reason is because they are turned away from Him still. Until they face Him they will never hear His voice.
Others live their life in a silent desparation. They don't go to church, and in fact, many are afraid to. They fear the God they do not understand. God still calls to them too. God loves us all no matter what. The Apostle Paul said, "nothing can separate us from His love", but our sin can separate us from Him. It is heartbreaking for God to love us so much and be cut off from us at the same time.
It's like your first trip to summer camp. Your parents still love you and you love them. Nothing can separate you from their love, but summer camp has separated you from their PRESENCE. So it is with us. God still loves us, but we are separated from Him. The first step toward "feeling" His love is "believing" that He loves you. The story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden says that they "were naked before God, and felt no shame". They, in a moment of rebelliousness, ate the forbidden fruit, "and their eyes were immediately opened, and they were ashamed of their nakedness". It wasn't God that ruined their Paradise, it was the fruit of their sin. It opened their eyes to their shame and when they heard God approach they hid from Him. God didn't hide from them. God came looking for them. God came calling to them. They hid under a bush because of THEIR shame, not because God was ashamed of them.
There is a way to leave that shame behind and come to God when He calls you. Please read the next few pages to find out what God has in mind for you. Jesus Christ said, "I am the Way, the Life, and the Truth". Those three little words can destroy your shame, and bring you into the loving arms of you Father. Be quiet right now and listen to Him calling you. Please read through these pages to learn more about how important YOU are to God. He made you for a purpose, He needs you for His own.
