Blacksburg, Sept. 1 - Funeral services for John Newlee, about 70, who died Thursday in Blacksburg, will be held at Oakey's chapel here Saturday afternoon. Burial will be in Westview cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Miss Virginia NEWLEE of Roanoke.

Blacksburg, Oct. 25 - Daniel Preston NUNN, 75, died last night in a Christiansburg hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella DALTON NUNN; four daughters, Mrs. Bessie BLAND, Charlottseville; Mrs. Gertrude HALE, Blacksburg; Mrs. Gladys HOWERY, Cambria; Mrs. Irene STEIN, Fredericksburg; 20 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Montgomery Primitive Baptist Church with burial in Westview Cemetery.

Blacksburg - Mrs. Pearl Jones O'BRIEN, 62, died at her home Monday. Surviving are her husband, Ray O'BRIEN; three foster sons, Emmett Carl HUNGATE, Blacksburg, Henry R. JONES Jr., Hampton, and Jesse L. JONES, Newport News; a brother, Dries M. JONES, Blacksburg; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hoy Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Blacksburg, Sept. 18 (Special) - David LeRoy OLIVER, 25, son of Wiley and Mrs. Irene CAMPER OLIVER of Blacksburg, died late Monday night at a hospital in Christiansburg after a brief illness. Services were held today at the Oakey funeral home and burial was in West View. Mr. OLIVER, who was a sergeant in the Blacksburg national guard, is survived by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Blacksburg, April 5 (Special) - Mrs. Jennie GIBBS MOREHEAD died yesterday on her 74th birthday anniversary at her home near here. Newport, April 5 (Special) - S. Jackson OLIVER, 78, widely-known Craig county farmer, died this morning at his home near Maywood. Funeral services will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. with burial in Ross cemetery. Surviving are two sons, Minor OLIVER, Newport, and Dr. Oren OLIVER, Nashville, Tenn. PRIVATE W. T. OLIVER

Word has been received in Blacksburg of the death Thursday in a Phoenix, Arizona, hospital of Private Welford T. OLIVER, with the army air corps stationed at Luke Field. Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. OLIVER, of Blacksburg and Charlottesville, Private OLIVER attended Blacksburg high school. He was 26 years old and for the pasy several years had been working in Richmond. Well known known (written that way in the paper) in the Blacksburg section, he enlisted in the air corps at Richmond last July and had not been home since that time. He is also survived by a half-brother, Byron OLIVER, of Charlottesville, and a half-sister, Mrs. Dennis BRADSHAW, of Norfolk. Cause of his death was given as blood disease. He had long been a member of the Blacksburg Lutheran church. Funeral arrangements have not been made. (This is accompanied by a picture of him in uniform. Mrs. Lucille CRAIG OVERSTREET, formerly of Roanoke, died Wednesday in a Danville hospital. Mrs. OVERSTREET moved to Danville from Roanoke about six months ago. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and a former staff nurse for the Red Cross regional blood center. Surviving are her husband, Lawrence W. OVERSTREET, her mother, Mrs. Melvina C. CRAIG, Blacksburg; three sisters, Mrs. William P. DAVIS and Mrs. E. Herbert RYAN, both of Blacksburg, and Mrs. Thomas PATSEL, Roanoke. Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Lotz, conducted by the Rev. J. E. STOCKMAN. Burial will be in Evergreen. Pallbearers will be J. W. CLINGENPEEL, R. N. SIBOLD, O.P. SCHILLING, V. A. ANGELL, GEORGE P. HASH AND HARRY G. ANDERSON.

Blacksburg - Louise Ruth PASCOE, 69, wife of Ervin P. PASCOE, died Tuesday in a Marion hospital. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Stella CLIETT, Draper, Mrs. Mary KLOPFER, Port Charlotte, Fla. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Chapel, Christiansburg, with burial in Sunset Cemetery.

Mrs. Lucy McCONKEY PERRIN, 51, of 215 Day Ave., S. W., died Friday morning in a Roanoke hospital. Surviving are three sons: John K. PERRIN, U. S. Army, Korea; Patrick P. PERRIN, Roanoke; a sister and two brothers; Mrs. Mattie M. TRUCKS, Roanoke; Samuel McCONKEY, Tarboro, N.C.; George G. McCONKEY, Huntington, W. Va.; and 10 grandchildren. The body will lie at Oakey's pending funeral plans.

Christiansburg, Nov. 13 - William PLUNKETT, 59, Montgomery sheriff, died this afternoon in a Roanoke hospital where he was brought Saturday following a heart attack. Sheriff PLUNKETT was a life-long resident of Montgomery county and took office January 1 of this year. He also served as deputy county commissioner for a number of years. Surviving are his widow, Ella Bruce PLUNKETT, three daughters, Mrs. Harry A. WALL, Sunflower, Kan.; Mrs. Walter H. WHITEHEAD, Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Mrs. C. R. BROWN, Rapid City, S.D.

Blacksburg, Oct. 14 (Special) - Mrs. Agnes HOWE PRICE, 70, died Sunday evening at the home of her son, H. R. PRICE, near Blacksburg. Services will be conducted from Davis Memorial Chapel in the Luster's Gate community Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Burial will be in Westview.
