Otho John Thrasher III (O.J.), 76 of Buchanan, died Sunday October 25 , 1998. Mr. Thrasher served with the U S Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the Buchanan American Legion Post # 93 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars # 1841 of Troutville. He had retired from Burlington Industries - Glasgow with over 39 years of service.. Survivors include his wife Genevieve O Thrasher; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Rick Radar of Troutville; granddaughter Jennifer Rader of Winston Salem Nc; Grandson Richard Rader II of Troutville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Conway and Rose Thrasher, Benny Ray and Shelby Thrasher all of Buchanan; sisters and brothers-in-lawPhyllis and Billy Witt of Carmel Ind., Barbara and Wallace Muterspaugh of Buchanan, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 28 , 1998 at 2 pm.in the Springwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold E Cook Jr and the Rev Chester L Carter officiating, Interment will follow in the church Cemetery. Albert J Ozmon Sr. Monday December 20, 1971
Norfolk- Albert John Ozmon Sr. 63 ,of 2400 E Ocean View Ave died Sunday at 4:30 am in Portsmouth General Hospital. A Native of Porthsmoth, he was the husband of the late Mrs Doris green Ozmon and a son of Howard M and Mrs Catherine Adams Ozmon.
He was retired from Norfolk Navel Station as inventory stock control employee.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Surviving are a daughter Mrs Willard J Derieux of Norfolk; a son Albert J Ozmon Jr. Of Portsmouth; two sisters Mrs. John J Kirchmeier of Chesepeak, and Mrs William H Crone III of Portsmouth; and10 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 am in St Pauls Catholic Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Julius J. Ciliniski. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. The Rosery will be said tonight at 8:00 pm in Brennan's Funeral Home, Portsmouth.

Portsmouth-- Mrs Helen Tynan Green, of 728 North Elm Ave, died yesterday at 1:30 am at der home. A native of Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late Frank T and Mrs Georgiana Mayo Tynan and the widow of William A Green.
Surviving are two daughters, Sister Helen Green of the Order of Sisters of Charity, Lowell, Mas. and Mrs. Albert J Ozmen, of Portsmouth; a brother, Frank Tynan of Cradock; two grand-children; four great-grandchildren; two neices and four nephews.
The body was taken to Brennan Funeral Home where Rosery services will be conducted tomorrow at 8pm.. Funeral services will be conducted at 10am at St Paul's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
Francis C. Tynan, 80, who died Sunday at 7:50 p.m. at his home, 52 Alwyn Road, Cradock.Va .
He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Tynan. His wife was the late Blanche Thrasher Tynan. He was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic church.
He is survived by two sons, John T. Tynan of Portsmouth and Francis M. Tynan of Buchanan, Va; two granddaughters, and two nieces, Mrs. Albert Ozmon of Norfolk, and Sister Helen Green of Waterville, Me.
The body was taken to Brennan Funeral Home.
MRS. BLANCHE THRASHER TYNAN
Mrs. Blanche Thrasher Tynan, of 52 Aylwin Road, Cradock, died yesterday at 6 p.m. at her home.
A native of Roanoke County, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mrs. Catherine Pace Thrasher and had lived in Portsmouth a number of years. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Cradock.
Mrs. Tynan is survived by her husband, Francis C. Tynan, of Cradock; two sons, John T. Tynan and Francis M. Tynan, and one sister, Mrs. Ollie Davis, all of Roanoke and one grandchild.

Mrs. Theresa Tynan Godwin, 83, widow of the late Leroy C. Godwin, and long a resident of this city, died this morning at 6:55 a.m., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. G. Parker, 3301 Ocean Avenue, Virginia Beach. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning at the Star of the Sea Catholic Chapel, Virginia Beach. Interment will be in Cedar Grove cemetery, Portsmouth.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W. G. Parker and Miss Genevieve Parker; a brother, Major Frank Tynan, of this city; seven granddchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Star of the Sea Catholic Chapel.

At St. Vincent's Hospital, Monday, November 10, 1913, at 5 o'clock a.m., Clara Louise Tynan, wife of Edward L. Cote, in the 31st year of her age.
The remains will be taken form the residence of her father, Mr. Frank T. Tynan, No. 1023 Ann Street, Park View, to St. Paul's Catholic church, Wednesday morning at 10 o;clock for funeral services. Friends of the family invited to attend. interment in Cedar Grove cemetery, Portsmouth.

Demise of Mrs M A Tynan , mother of Mrs M D Monserrate of this city. Her family represented in the Colonial and Civil War. Funeral will take place this morning from St.Marys Church. Mrs Mary A Tynan mother of M C Monserrate died at her daughters residence 143 Augusta St. Thursday morning at 12:45 oclock sged at 84years 7 months and 19 days . Mrs Tynan was a native of Georgetown, Md. Being born on Sept 16, 1816. Her Ancestors came to the United States with the Colony of Loard Baltimore in 1633 and settled in Maryland .
During the Revolutionary War her family was represented in the Colonial Army and did good service.
During the Civil war she had one son in the Confederate Navy who was engineer on the Merrimac at the time of the fight with the Monitor in Hampton Roads Va.
Another son was in Picketts devision in the army of northern Virginia. Mrs Tynans husband died previous to the Civil War and is burried in the old Church yard in Hampton Va.
Surviving her there are two sons and two daughters and nineteen grandchildren, and twelve great grand children. For the past eight years she has been living with her son-in-law and daughter Mr & Mrs M D Monserrate.
She was highly reserved by her many friends in the city for her excellent and fine traits of character.
The funeral will take place from the residence 143 Augusta Street this morning at 9:30 and from St Marys Church at 10:00 oclock. Rev. Father Smith will conduct the services at the house and church.
Interment will take place in St Marys Cemetery. The following gentlemen will officiate as pallbarrers. Regon Houston, J W Terry, Dan Sullivan Sr., Mike Groggin, J L Conroy, and T B Palfrey.
Portsmouth - Mrs. Agnes Elizabeth Mahoney, 93, of the Emily Green Home, a native of Portsmouth, died Monday at 3:35 p.m. in a hospital. She was the widow of Charles Henry Mahoney and a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Charles F. Mahoney of Portsmouth, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The Rosary will be recited tonight at 7:30 in Foster Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Church by the Rev. Fr. Robert Walsh. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will assemble at the home of the son, 2429 Sterling Point Drive. Memorial donations may be made to the Emily Green Home.

Funeral services over the body of Mrs. Anita K. Thayer, who died yesterday, were held at St. Paul's Catholic Church at 10 o'clock this morning. Rev. Father Donahoe officiated and a requiem high mass was celebrated. There was a large attendance, and the floral offerings were numerous and beautiful.
Interment took place in St. Paul's cemetery, the pall-bearers being as follows:
Messrs. J.M. Wakefield, Charles A. Morrisette, John M. Drewry, Edwin Mahoney, D.L. Munro and Dr. B.D. Downey.

James F Camper of Buchanan died at her home at 12:40 pm Monday. Surviving
are ten children; including W H Camper of Roanoke, 25 grandchildren and one

Nov 23, 1942 (Special) Mrs T Hartwell Glass has been
notified of the death of her sister Mrs Annie Marr, widow of Thomas Marr,
at a hospital in Ashville NC on Sunday. Funeral services will be held in
Canton NC Tuesday.
A former resident of Buena Vista Mrs Marr made her home in Canton Nc for a
number of years.

SILAS SHELBURNE ROOP, 67, prominent and life long citizen of this
community died Wednesday night, February 28 (1945), at his home near
Riner following an illness of several months.
Funeral services were conducted from the home Friday, March 2, with
burial in the Surface cemetery at Riner.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Josephine Martin Roop, five daughters,
Mrs. George Dobbins, Childress; Mrs. Williams Lawrence, Portsmouth;
Mrs. Frank Bishop , Christiansburg; Mrs. George
Loveday, Riner and Mrs. Latha Dobbins, Pilot. One son, Millard H.
Roop, Riner; one brother Luther Roop, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs.
Samuel Roop and Mrs. John Martin, both of Riner; 15 grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Roop was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ham Roop of this county.

Bishop, 51, died in a local hospital this morning. She is survived by

William James, Vicker; three sons, Frank J. Bishop, Jr.; Fred T.
Bishop and Beekie Bishop, all of Christiansburg; eight grandchildren;
four sisters: Mrs. G.W. Dobbins and Mrs. Margie Loveday both of Riner;
Mrs. L. N. Dobbins of Pilot and Mrs. William Lawrence, Portsmouth; and
one brother M.H. Roop, Riner.
Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Christiansburg Church of the
Brethern. Burila will be in Sunset Cemetery. The body will remain at
Richardson's Funeral Home until one hour before the service.
