| Mrs. Gronseth of Rothsay Dies - May 20, 1929 Mrs. Ingeborg Gronseth, widow of Tollef Gronseth, died Saturday morning at 5 o'clock. Mrs. Gronseth had been ill with heart trouble most of the winter, but had been up as usual until a week before her death. About two o'clock Saturday morning she suffered a stroke resulting in death three hours later. Mrs. Gronseth was born in Numedal, Norway, August 23, 1849 and she would have been 80 years old had she lived until August of this year. She came to America with her brothers and sisters in 1883 moving directly to Akron township, just across the line in Wilkin county, where they settled. Later she married Tollef Gronseth and they lived on the adjoining farm. Her husband died October 7, 1907 and she is survived by one son, Ole Gronseth who resides on the home farm and with whom she has made her home and by one stepdaughter Miss Bertha Gronseth of San Diego, California and five grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Alfred Flatin of this neighborhood and one brother, Andrew Haslerud of Detroit Lakes also survive. Three sisters and one brother have preceded her in death. They were Mrs. Ole Ruud, Mrs. Rollef Olson, Miss Anna Haslerude and Erick Wamrie, all having resided here. Mrs. Gronseth was a good woman and a kind neighbor and her death will be mourned not only in her family but by a wide circle of friends. Funeral services will be held tomorrow Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Ole Gronseth home, and at 2 p.m. from the Hamar Church, Rev. Salveson officiating. Fekjan who was born March 1, 1847 and came to America in 1884, Mari married Ole Ruud, Rothsay. Ingeborg O. Fekjan who was born August 23, 1849, came to America in 1883 & took the name Ingeborg Haslerud and married Tollef O. Gronseth, Rothsay. Gunvil O. Aarud who was born March 30, 1852 and came to America in 1883. Gunvil married Rollef Olson, Rothsay. Guri O. Aarud who was born March 26, 1855 and came to America in 1883. Guri married Andras T. Kleven & Asle (Alfred) Flatin of Rothsay. Andres O. Asperoe born June 19, 1860, came to America in 1883 & took the name Andrew Haslerud & lived in Detroit Lakes, MN died in 1933. | |||||||||||||||||||
