The Great River Regional Coin Club meets regularly on the first Thursday of each month at Miller's Indoor Auto Plaza at 2930 2nd Street South, St. Cloud, MN. Meeting time is 6:30 PM and goes to approximately 8:30.

September Recap
We finalized preparations for our 1st Fall Show.
We discussed the Stardome or the Little Falls High School as locations for our spring show. Location suggestions are still needed.
We viewed a Heritage Auction video followed by a short auction.
October Recap
We had a review of the first Fall Show. We have reserved the next two Spring Shows and next Fall Show at the Kelly Inn. The next Spring Show is April 21st 2002, and the next Fall Show is September 15, 2002. We started deciding on the design for the Spring Show Wooden Nickels.
We welcomed guest Dan.
November Recap
We decided on a design and ordered the wooden nickels for the Spring Coin Show.
Next month is "Dirty Bingo". Bring a $10 numismatic gift that's wrapped and has your name on it. Don't forget to play "dirty"!
Next month is also election for NEW Officers
for next year. 5 positions are available: President, Vice President, Newsletter writer, Treasurer, and Coin Show Coordinator. If you would like one of these jobs, please come to the December meeting.
Special Events:

June Recap
Members are checking on a new location for the Spring Coin Show. Some suggestions have been the St. Cloud Armory, the Bingo Hall, and the Stardome. If you have any suggestions, bring to the next meeting. We viewed a video from the US Mint.
July Recap
The empty Video Plus store or the Civic Center was suggested for the Spring Show. We are seeking donations for door prizes for the Fall Coin Show. Fall Coin Show preparations were discussed. Red books arrive in July, Blue books in August. We had a lively auction.
August Recap
There are 16 tables sold for the Fall Show. If you want a table, let Roy or John know by August 25th. The wooden nickels are in for the Fall Show.
Redbooks have come in. They are available to club members for $6.75. Regular retail value is $10.95. come to a meeting to get one.
We are considering a club website. Different web pages were suggested. If you have any ideas, share them at the next meeting.
Jerry shared his Buffalo commemorative set from the US mint. It contained one Silver Dollar, a five-dollar bill, a $0.10 and a $0.21 US postage stamp.

March Recap
Tory gave a presentation on George Washington and the history of the quarter. We had a short show and tell period. A report on the progress of the Coin Show in April from John.
April Recap
A lengthy meeting concerning final preparation for the April Coin Show. We also had a short auction time. The first 2001 coin was found in change this month.
May Recap
We had a long report on the Coin Show. The Coin Show was very active until it started to rain. Hundreds attended the show. We may need a bigger space for the Spring Coin Show because we turned away dealers.
We discussed if we should get wooden nickels for the Fall Show. We already have half the tables sold for the Fall Show, on September 16th.

December Recap
We elected new officers for the year 2001. They are: Roy is President, Mike is Vice-President, Cy is Treasurer, D.J. is Newsletter writer, and John is the Coin Show Coordinator.
Dirty Bingo was played. This year, we remembered to play dirty! We all had a fun time.
January Recap
We discussed having a contest for 2001 or just playing Dirty Bingo at the December meeting. The majority voter for Dirty Bingo again this year.
We voted to award the first member who brings in a 2001 coin received as change (documented with date, time and location) with a door prize.
We had an informative discussion about buying coins off the internet and EBay auctions.
February Recap
John discussed with us about ad sizes and how many times we should run an ad for the Coin Show in the St. Cloud Times. The wooden nickels for the 2001 Coin Show are in. Wooden nickels cost $0.35 for 1 and $1.00 for 3.
If you still need a red or blue book, there are some still available for you. Red are $6.00 and Blue are $5.50.
Dues are due in April. The cost is $3.00 for 1 person and $5.00 for a whole family.

April 22, 2001 is the annual Great River Regional Coin Club coin show at the Kelly Inn. There was a great turn out last year and we hope to have a better turn out this year. Contact Roy at 320-230-1683.
